CX award availability discrepancies with BA vs AA

I'm looking at booking a CX flight using either avios of aa miles and was surprised to see no availability on ba.com vs availability (up to payment page, i haven't checked out yet) on aa.com

I know some airlines make more seats available for their own members but isn't awarded availability for partners (for booking with miles by their loyalty programme members) meant to be the same for all partners? If so, is this a known glitch and/or common issue? Asking before I potentially query it with BA's ggl line.

Award availability isn't always uniform across oneworld partners.

BA's award booking engine has problems with a lot of itineraries I have attempted to look at, I know it 'can' handle connections in theory, but quite often I end up getting the no flights available screen if there's a connection involved. I'd check it on the QR award search instead, they have all partners online now except JL. QR should also have a lower Avios cost than BA, since BA raised the Avios cost of JL and CX awards last year.

For a CX award, if AA has it, then all other OW partners 'should' have it as well, that's not a partner that AA has enhanced availability with.

For clarity, by "a cx flight" I meant a single segment flight with no connection. Good call to check with another partner. It is showing up with finnair and qr so seems ba specific.

fwiw this is for hkg-dps which I now see is available on QR/AY/AA on every day I checked this month but is not available on BA on every day I checked this month. Notable, it is vibisle to agents when i call BA so it is bookable by phone. Oddly BA.com is happy showing the reverse (DPS-HKG).

Finnair is notorious for poor or non-existent partner availability using their points. As stated earlier, there is no expectation of uniform availability across different partners.

FYI this seems to be a broader issue and ba.com specific. I.e. a problem with BA's website. As such ideally a moderator would move this to the BA forum.

Prompted by noting that whilst a few days ago HKG-LHR award bookings on CX in economy was widerly available most or all days this and next week on ba.com, now it's only showing available from Oct 27th onwards (suspisciously a week away) BUT availability is still showong on aa.com for every day from today till at least Oct 29th I assume it's also available if you call BA rather than rely on their broken website given that worked for HKG-DPS.

Maybe true, but clearly not the issue whereby a BA phone agent can see and book availability visible on aa.com, finnair.com and qatarairways.com that was not showing on ba.com. This was not for 1 seat on one flight, it was for several days all showing wide open elsewhere but unavailable on ba.com

This expanded availability wasn't specifically related to you being GGL?

it was for a cx flight (not on a ba code share) so i can't imagine it was. Much more plausible that ba too had availability just like aa ay and qr did, but ba just wasn't showing it on ba.com

You have to be logged in to search on BA.com or the app. So presumably it'd know that already. I suspect it's just a poor interface that misses a lot of award availability that is actually there. I've never bothered phoning in since generally QR fees are about the same so I just book it through their site.

Yes, pretty clear this is the issue.

Also check Qatar's stock, as you can move avios between BA & Qatar freely & instantly and the redemption rate is better in Qatar. And some seats would show up in Qatar, but not in BA.

I'm really frustrated that I haven't been able to secure a CX J or F award in years using AA miles :-(

I can't find any availability on CX using AA miles. Looking for flights to HKG or any city beyond TYO and ICN (on AA metal) throws an error of:
"Something went wrongWe didn't find a match. Please choose different search options."
