Code-Share Question Re: Baggage Allowance and Seat Selection
Hello -
I am AAdvantage Platinum/OW Sapphire. Looking at a booking through Finnair.com, USA->France->USA. TATL portion is a AY code/BA metal via LHR, return is AY code/AA metal via PHL. AY fare class is "Light", however as OW Sapphire, I hope I would still be eligible to choose seats and check 1 bag, as if it were AY metal. Thus here is my question: If I book this "Light" fare via Finnair.com, does anyone know if (1) I will be able to use the PNR to access BA.com and AA.com and choose preferred seats for free?; and (2) I will be able to check 1 bag with BA at the airport based on my OW Sapphire status? ...even though BA doesn't allow checked bags on its own cheapest fares (ie from the OW website: "On international itineraries, that include domestic sectors, using the baggage allowance “piece” system – one additional bag*, weighing up to 23kgs, up to a maximum of two pieces. Note: This benefit is not available on British Airways’ 'Hand Baggage Only/Basic' fares.") As a point of reference, earlier this year I flew a "Light" fare TATL on AY metal booked via Finnair.com and was able to both choose seats and check a bag. I guess the third part of the question relates to my 1 or 2 travel companions. If we are all booked together on 1 PNR, which if any of these benefits will be extended to them? Thank you! |

<snip> https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...nair-plus-636/ Is AY light the basic economy fare? Your AY marketed AA/BA operated may be different https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...h-america.html https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...-benefits.html https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...er-thread.html With AA & BA status gets different benefits over the BE fare t&c's |
