Great to know that. So now ex-OSL is cheaper than ex-NRT in all DONEx itins.
I just checked EF shows ex-NRT to be: $6,059 / $7,204 / $8,264 / $9030.

Let hear from those who try to start from KHI. Pakistan is a little shaky for me personally. Never been to Pakistan though.

Thanks for the shout-out, Jerry. True, unless the price differential between CMB and Pakistan improves, I'll stick with Sri Lanka for now. However, as wingzing pointed out, things are continually changing. Right now I see IONE3 ex-CMB at USD $5,410.43, and ex-KHI at USD $4,663.28. SO at roughly USD $750, we're starting to approach a price differential that I would consider sufficiently attractive.

Then there's the issue of scheduling. I would need to be able to schedule in and out with maybe a few hours. I'm not interested in a 10 hour connection in Pakistan, such as the one I'm in the middle of right now at NRT. I can be pretty flexible on origin and destination airports; but I really have no interest in that long a layover at KHI.

Speaking of NRT, be aware that the regular Sakura F lounge in the main building is currently closed for renovation. It's apparently being replaced temporarily (I hope) by a smaller windowless F lounge upstairs. And I was just informed that the Sakura F lounge in the satellite terminal is closed between 1100 and 1500. So I guess that I'll be heading

EF LONE3 ex-CMB is $2512; and ex-KHI is $2163

The quoted fares are for IONE3, not LONE3. There are only a few I-based fares available.

Currently, EF reports:
ex-HKI IONE3 $4663.28USD; DONE3 $4758.44USD
ex-CMB IONE3 $5410.43USD; DONE3 $6216.98USD.

I-based fares obviously must be booked into I (or the designated coach inventory), which is less available than D.

If you can put up with the online booking tool and can get it to price a similar itinerary, that can give you an all-in cost. Or if you know a travel agent who uses Sabre, they can create an itinerary and autoprice it.

The base fares of Oneworld Explorer tickets originating anywhere in South America have been published in USD since at least 2012

So if you were paying in ARS, the USD price would be converted to ARS at the then exchange rate.

(For a brief period in 2013 the Rule Sheet for the Oneworld Explorer included the world-wide base fares. I kept a copy. South American base fares were in USD)

I meant because EF shows the ARS price as 0 (per my post).

Could someone who currently has a subscription to EF please post the current base fares for a DONE5 ex-KHI, CMB and South Africa. Is anyone aware of a more cost effective place to start than these three currently ? Also, I assume the Oneword Explorer tickets are currently better value than the Star Alliance RTW tickets - would be interested to know if anyone thinks others. About to book a couple of RTW's and trying to work out the best place to start.

Looks like DONE prices have come down quite a bit to just over $5K USD for a DONE3 ex-OSL

Do you know how to find the AONE prices? Since you can have the first flight 12 month after you bought the ticket and then have another 12 month to finish you could book something for next year - hopefully then things are back to normal.

Prices ex-Norway are unchanged (they are the same price in the local currency as they were last month)
What has happened is that the NOK has fallen ~20% against the USD - probably a combination of the pandemic and the steep fall in oil prices

1st class base fares are:

and the exchange right now is 1USD=10.93NOK

I just tried a DONE4 from the RTW site originating OSL and it prices in Euro. ???

Fare is still in NOK in GDS.

I guess it's pretty close but not sure why it was converted to euro.

OSL-MAD on IB for first flight quotes in EUR whereas OSL-LHR on BA quotes in NOK

FYI kelvin: the best start for a DONEx from OSL -- whether you want to go eastwards or westwards -- is on QR to DOH. But you can't book that on the RTW tool; you need to use a TA or call one of the airlines involved on your itinerary. (Anecdotally, many airlines will refuse to book it for you unless you have a transoceanic segment with them.)

Strangely, you need to look at the routing rules for the fare to see the 'native' fare
