LA have a weekly flight on a Saturday from SCL to MPN via PMC and PVQ. As this is a single flight number it only counts as one segment so long as you do not stopover in either PMC or PVQ.

I cannot find no direct flights between SCL and Tahiti (PPT). All seem to be via LAX which means adding an extra continent to your trip.

There are no direct flights PPT-CNS. You would need to route via AKL and SYD. Air Tahiti Nui are not part of oneworld but I think you can use them with a QF code on the Global Explorer ticket, not the oneworld explorer Continent based ticket.

SYD-Tonga-SYD is a big no, no. Only one International arrival and departure is permitted except travel to/from Papu New Guinea.

The rest seems fine.

I think you need to do a bit more homework!

Fortunately Lan Chile flies to PPT from SCL, via IPC - again, all one flight number, so that part isn't an issue (though as you mentioned once you get to PPT you don't have many options unless you go the Global Explorer)

The limits on international arrivals are for the country of origin, not other countries. And since these flights are within SWP, there is no intercontinental arrival issue either.

The only way to get off PPT to the south is via TN or NZ to AKL, neither of which can you fly as part of a GE or OWE fare.

You are better off traveling to TBU from AKL then SYD as the flights from SYD connect through AKL. Again, you can't do this on oneworld as the only carriers flying the route are NZ and WR (Royal Tongan).

Your oneworld *ONE4 ticket would look something like LHR-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-PPT//AKL-BNE-CNS-SYD-JNB-NBO-LHR. You would need to ticket PPT-AKL-TBU-AKL separately. If you originate from CAI rather than LHR you could save £500-3000, depending on the class you plan to fly.

I gather from the fares you quoted you are looking at an MGLOB29 ticket. I just did a quick look at the route and came up with about 32,000 miles, excluding the PPT-AKL segment which would put it over the 34,000 mile maximum.

When I mentioned the savings from originating in CAI, I was assuming you were going to 4 continent Oneworld Explorer ticket. The MGLOB34 low season fare, ex-LHR is £1669, ex-CAI it is £1200, and ex-BRU it is €2900 (£2000). Thus, you will save about £330 by flying from LHR vs. BRU but an additional £470 (£800 total) by originating from CAI -- possibly worth the effort.

QF used to fly their own metal from PPT but discontinued that in 2000 in favor of a PH codeshare that could be booked on a Global Explorer ticket. However, I believe that PH dropped the PPT route and that QF now codeshares with TN which is not a GE eligible carrier.

QF has a codeshare with TN going PPT-AKL. This is allowed for the GE, but not OWE.

Oops, you're right. Sorry, I missed that exception in the rules.

The good news is that you can get off Tahiti to NZ. The bad news is that it will put you over 34,000 miles on the route I proposed. It may be possible to tweak this route some or you may have to drop a segment. Probably the easiest to drop and cheapest to replace with a separate ticket is AKL-SYD instead of AKL-BNE-CNS-SYD. This will get you well under 34,000 miles so you can use a MGLOB34 ticket originating from LHR.

I like to start the first week of september and we 're with two persons.

If you are wanting to go straight off to SAm from CAI then you'd probably need to book through IB office & not BA so you can go CAI-MAD-Santiago.

If you start in CAI on your latest itinerary your trip would look like CAI-BCN-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-PPT-AKL-SYD-JNB-MAD-BCN-CAI and you would buy a separate ticket AKL-TBU-AKL on NZ or WR.

Unfortunately, the above route comes in 845 miles over the 34,000 mile limit, primarily due to the difficulty in getting from JNB to CAI. I've fiddled with the routing as much as I can but don't see a way to shave off the extra miles. You may have to revert to starting in LHR and routing LHR-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-PPT-AKL-SYD-JNB-LHR.
