intercontinental routing
Starting from Europe, is the following the general routing that will accumulate most miles:
Europe-Africa-Asia-Australia-N America-Europe?
Actually, I would like
Europe-Australia-Asia-Africa-N America-Europe
But there seems to be no legal way to go from Africa to N America (at least from South Africa) because it would be necessary to go through Europe, Australia, or Asia again. Is there some way to use the Accra/Lagos exception to achieve this routing?

You must cross both the Pacific & Atlantic Oceans in a RTW direction when changing zones. The only exception to this is when going to or from SWpacific to Europe (and some say North America) a transit in Asia is permitted as a backtrack.

You could try EU-Africa-EU/Asia-SWP-Asia/NA-EU, with / indicating non-stopover routings. The only thing is that you can only do the EU/Asia transit if you fly out of Accra / Lagos, so you would be limited where you could go there, otherwise you may have to utilise the JNB-HKG flight to get out of Africa. In general, maximising miles works better through S. America than Africa, since Lan Chile provides you with better route choices than are available intra-Africa.
