Where's the stopover?

Say you have a global explorer fare where stopovers matter. And say you have a surface sector between continents, like SIN-SYD. Is the stopover charged to Asia or SWP? Can you choose?

The stopover is where you stop your journey - SIN in this example. You simply continue your journey from SYD.

Are you sure inter-continent sectors can be ground sectors? I thought you could only do that within a zone and not between zones??? Sorry, no time to check the rules for you.
