Using Transatlantic BA Miles

I started this thread in the AA section; it's probably better suited to this group. Basically, I'm doing 3 transatlantic trips on BA (which I rarely fly) and would like to use the earned miles on AA if possible. My understanding is that they cannot be credited directly. Going through QF has been suggested as an option. Any advice from the experts?

I also suggested another option-

If you have enough trips to get 40,000 kms(25,000 miles), you can get Premium status at Lanchile, which comes with two upgrade certificates valid on the next class of service and can only be redeemed at check-in.* Upg. are valid only with LanChile, LanPeru and you'll also need 4 segments w/LA to obtain elite status

Another advantage is if you're not planning to use the miles w/Lanchile, you can always transfer them to HHonors.

10,000 LanPass kms= 10,000 HHonors

Another option I was looking at was through AS.. But I don't use that carrier, so for me LanChile is my top choice.

eperaltaotero are 2 upgrade certificated enough for MAD-SCL?

1 upgrade certificates is required for MAD-SCL

With LanChile, one upgrade certificate can be applied to one segment. Great !
