Er, daniellam, I don't think you've got the point. What you used to be able to do (but cannot anymore) is get any OneWorld ticketing facility or Travel Agent in Canada to issue (in Canada) a OWE ticket starting anywhere in the world (for example S Africa or Gibraltar) at the price which it would be charged if ticketed in S Africa or Gibraltar (i.e. somewhat cheaper than Canada).

Personally I didn't think this was a particularly big deal since I always use Ticket on Departure directly from the airline. But some people here seemed to think it was very valuable.

it is valuable, if you do not plan to stay in that country (e.g. Gibraltar), or don't plan to spend 1-2 hours in the local airport, or simply feel more secured with a paper ticket in your hand http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
