Thanks for your help, Pegasus.
LAX is not a constraint. I only have to go to BOS whilst on my North America routings. On the initial North American segments, I need to go to Boston (for less than 24hrs) and as a stopover on the other. |
it is probably easier if you finish your north america trips before going to SCL.
and stop by LAX for 23 hours on SCL-lax-LHR. this way you have as many (real) stopovers as you like. (QF107, stops by LAX, only on We/Fr/Su, but it is counted as one inter-continental flight) SYD-JFK-MIA-BOS-DFW-LAX-SXM-DFW-SCL-LAX-LHR or SYD-JFK-MIA-BOS-DFW-ANC-DFW-LAX-SCL-LAX-LHR |
Thanks again, Pegasus. Will post my routing when I finally decide upon it!

Like leroy11 I'm trying to maximise my mileage in NA. I will be travelling on a OWE in First. My entire trip will be put on BA Exec Club (UK). I'll be doing SYD-JFK to maximise mileage. I keep hearing good reports about CX First so I thought I would do JFK-YVR to try it out. This gets me 3x mileage and maximum tier points. My next destination is SJU to catch an island hopper to whever my friends yacht will be at the time! I can do YVR-DFW-YVR but as these are classed as International flights there is no First Class, only Business. This means only 2x mileage.
I know this may sound like utter madness to some, but I've also considered doing SYD-JFK-LAX on QF without a stopover in JFK. There is a two hour window at JFK so I think this would be enough time to clear immigration, collect my bags and check them in again. At least I will be in a QF flat bed for the entire journey! Anyone got a better idea as how to maximise the mileage? [This message has been edited by Gaza (edited 08-04-2002).] |

Some have posted on this board that if you fly, for example, on QF or CX to JFK (thru LAX or YVR) even when booked as a direct flight, that this is counted as your one nonstop transcon flight in North America. So, you may not be able to get this ticketed. However, good luck to you! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
