5th freedom list

For the last 1w promo, someone posted a list of the various 5th freedom flights of the 1w airlines. Where might one find the current list for the current airlines? Or... where might one find someone to find the list and post it here? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

A few corrections

Canadian is out of oneworld
BA's own metal PER-SIN will be dropped end of June but will continue as a codeshare with QF metal.

QF appears to have YVR-HNL and YYZ-HNL rights

I haven't been able to find any AA routes that have would have 5th freedoms within S. America.

I haven't been following this promo to closely because I will only be doing a 3 cont. trip before the offer ends. But what is the 5th freedom flights?

QF Infact will operate YVR-HNL routes as part of QF3/4 as of 3rd July (a 767 service - so no F one would expect).

No word on the YYZ one though.

BAGold......this may not be the technical term, but a 5th Freedom flight is flown into and out of a country/countries that are not the home base for the airline. For example:

CX TPE-NRT

BA SIN-SYD

AA GRU-MVD

Here's another question... what about flights where the airline doesn't have the 5th freedom rights, but they do fly (such as QF LAX-JFK)? These flights could be used in the RTW, right? Does anyone have a list of such flights?

UserMark

That is a sort of a semi-cabotage to pick up and drop off in the same foreign country (not sure what degree of freedom this one is). You'd have to go JFK-LAX-Australia or v-v on QF if you use that.

There are not many other flights do that. The only other one to come to mind is BA SAN-PHX-LGW

Of course there are many codeshares.

A follow up. QF3 actually operates to YYZ on Tue, Thu, Sat and to YVR on the other days.

A quick revision of the various freedoms, as taken from the site of theAirforwarders Association:

First Freedom
The right to fly across another country without landing.

Second Freedom
The right to land in another country for purposes other than carrying passengers, such as re-fueling or maintenance.

Third and Fourth Freedoms
They stand together as the basis for commercial services, providing the rights to load and unload passengers, mail and cargo in another country.

Fifth Freedom
Sometimes referred to as "beyond rights". This freedom enables airlines to carry passengers to one country, and then fly on to another country (rather than back to their own).

Sixth Freedom
Not formally part of the original convention (1944 Chicago Convention), this refers to a state's right to carry traffic between two other countries via an airport in its own territory.

Seventh Freedom
Also an unofficial extension, this covers the right to operate stand-alone services between two other countries.

Eighth Freedom
Another unofficial extension of the treaty, this is sometimes also referred to as "cabotage" rights. This refers to the carriage of passengers and cargo within the borders of another country.

A more detailed, and in a more legal language, description can be found in a relevantEuropean Parlementwebpage.

19 years have passed, and this list is as out-of-date as can be. Would we be active enough to update?

Finnair only has one 5th freedom flight, ARN-BGO-ARN.

What about the others?

ffay005 I've added a Wiki at the top of the post

Great! The list is a lot shorter today, compared to 19 years ago.

I spotted a few mistakes for CX and corrected them.
