Oneworld and MU
 

what is the actual reason that Oneworld failed to recruit MU (China Eastern Airlines, now a member elect of Skyteam) to join Oneworld?
are the following a part of the reasons?
1.lack of sponsors to help its integration to Oneworld
2.the shareholder relationship between CA and CX
3.the CEO of MU is the former CZ (China Southern Airlines) boss

MU was on track to join OneWorld. It will be sponsored by CX as CX/MU already in FQTV corporation. Then MU signed a lot of deals with AA/JL/QF and on track with BA in some time.

But the crises within MU and MU start looking for relationship with SQ somehow delayed the process.

Then what happened was the former CEO from CZ come to MU and stopped the process in his personal will and move MU towards SkyTeam.

He judges that JAL stay in OneWorld then DL will have the one billion US dollars to invest in other carriers...Which we all know would be dream on.

I would add....

4. Complacency and lack of aggression on the part of OW carriers.

Lets hope that Hainan will join in the future. Since they're the last China airline to join an alliance, OW would look completely stupid if they lost them to another alliance.
