RTW - India / Number of continents question
Hi,
I'm planning a RTW trip with oneworld. I read the FAQ on this forum and the information on oneworld.com.
I started planning our trip using the tool on oneworld.com
We would fly from Brussels to N. America. Some stops (3) before we continue to Japan (Tokyo) - China (Beijing) - India (Delhi) and then back to Brussels.
I encounter 2 problems booking this trip :
- There never seems to be a flight available within India. (although they say you can fly Kingfisher). I can fly into Delhi and from Delhi to Brussels but I was hoping to fly Delhi - Hyderabad and Hyderabad back to brussels.
- I cannot add stops within Europe. This trip gets quoted as a 3 continent trip although I only really visit 2 continents. I tried to add a stop in Dubai (according to the specs this should be Europe) but then I get a message I can only visit this continent once.)
- To make things even more complex : I'm allowed to add a stop in Moscow which would be Europe as well. However then I do not find any flights. I get no message the stop is not allowed though....
Thanks for some advice.

It would make it a lot easier for us to give advice, if you post the exact routing that you are trying to create (e.g. BRU-JFK-LAX-MIA-DFW-NRT etc)
Then, some of the RTW experts in this forum would be able to see where the problems are.
From the info you have given, I can make a couple of points:
1) I don't believe any flights within India are available yet, as Kingfisher does not join Oneworld until some time next year.
2) I don't know why you think this should be a 2 continent trip as you are definitely using 3: Europe, North America and Asia.
3) Can't address your Europe stops question without knowing the exact routing you are trying to create.
Give us more info and you'll get a much more useful response.
Happy Travels.

Oneworld rules states following airlines you can use.
AA/AY/BA/CX/IB/JC/JL/JO/KA /LA/LP/MA/MX/NU/QF/RJ/XL/4M
This does not include Kingfisher(IT).
For examples, following xONE3 is valid good start point for your travel.
BRU-JFK-NRT-PEK-HKG-DEL-HKG-DXB-LHR-BRU
I didn't check following routing is valid or not for going to both of Moscow and Dubai.
BRU-JFK-NRT-PEK-HKG-DEL-HKG-DXB-xLHR-DME//SVO-xBUD-BRU

Kingfisher(IT) can be used for a global explorer ticket but not a oneworld explorer.
http://www.oneworld.com/content/libr...are%20rule.pdf
If the OP is trying to plan a global explorer(for which you can use IT) then the oneworld online tool is not programmed to do that(and will not show IT flights). The online tool is only for planning/booking a oneworld explorer ticket(for which IT is not an authorized airline).
If the OP is starting in BRU(the routing as others have noted is not entirely clear) then he may be running afoul of the two stopovers in continent of origin rule or the limited sectors from LHR rule.
0. APPLICATION AND OTHER CONDITIONS
First/Business/Economy travel valid for RTW /Open Jaw travel via
AA /AS /AY /BA /CX /EI /FJ /GF /IB /IG /IT/JC /JL /JO /KA /LA /LP /MA /MX /NU /QF /RJ/S7 /XL /4M

Exact Routing
Although the routing is not final yet this is what I have planned today in oneworld explorer tool:
BRU-CHI-MIA-LAS-LAX(stopover)-HND-PEK-HKG(stopover)-HYD-surface segment-HYD-LHR(stopover)-BRU
Total distance flown is 23132miles.
I missed the point that Kingfisher is only available in global explorer.
What I would like to add to this routing is DXB.
The routing would then be :
BRU-CHI-MIA-LAS-LAX(stopover)-HND-PEK-HKG(stopover)-HYD-surface segment-HYD-DXB-LHR(stopover)-BRU
Total distance flown would become 23319miles.
I did not really visit any part in Europe with my oneworld explorer itinerary. (Except leaving from BRU and arriving back in BRU. That's why I mentioned this.)

If you want to land HND, options are AA's JFK-HND, JL's SFO-HND and HNL-HND.
HYD is not covered by oneworld explorer.
Probably can do:
BRU-ORD-MIA-LAS-xLAX-xSFO-HND-PEK-HKG-DXB-xLHR-BRU
By the way, stopover means a transfer more than 24hrs. so your routing is a bit strange. So, I assume your stopovers are transit.

There is an AA flight : 169 It goes to NRT.
It seems the planning tool flies into NRT, departs from HND but shows only the HND airport in the routing.
Strange because I made this trip online using the oneworld explorer planning tool and it allows me to fly over HYD. Can I trust this tool?
Okay, I use the wrong terminology. It must indeed be transfer.

So you'd be looking for something like:
BRU-CHI-MIA-LAS-LAX(stopover)-HND-PEK-HKG(stopover)-HYD-surface segment-HYD-DXB-LHR(stopover)-BRU
BRU-ORD-MIA-LAS-xLAX-NRT-PEK-xHKG-DEL-xHKG/xAMM-DXB-xLHR-BRU
also remember that there's a further restriction of 2 stopovers in the continent of origin (I believe 1 in each direction). So Dubai stay uses up 1 of the 2 allowed stopovers.
If you really need to fly into / outof HND instead of NRT then you'll need to adjust your port of departure from the US.

On a westbound xonex if you want to go to HYD you will have to fly to another Indian gateway and do HYD as a side trip outside the xonex. If you reorder your continents and go eastbound you could use the BA service to HYD but you would still have to do a surface segment to another Indian gateway to continue to your other Asian stops.

Visit Asia compared to RTW
Are the Visit Asia fares the same as the once in in the RTW program?
For Eg. if I travel round the world and fly Osaka-Hanoi will it be for 370usd like stated on the Visit Asia page? (http://www.oneworld.com/ow/air-trave...your-itinerary)
