Well it's in the manner of the letters and the communication to members. I really urge people to read the letter from COInsider and then go read Jeff (or whoever it is at Delta) and their letter to us...

Continental's contact is more personable, honest, straight forward, empathetic and realistic. Yeah there's stuff in Continental's announcement that isn't positive - and he knows it!

This is very true. What an asset to CO he is. Scott represents an overall attitude at CO.

3. "No more Elite upgrades on Northwest Airlines" October 1:A big blow for NW Elite?

While nwa.com still shows Oct 24th as the last date for Elite Upgrade on CO, CO's new message indicate that reciprocal upgrade is ending October 1. Does that mean NW elites are losing upgrade privileges October 1 for CO flights too, 24 days earlier than mentioned at nwa.com?

Am not happy with this new change if this is so...

Reduction from 150% EQM to 125% EQM in business class

Just to be clear, it's the loss of EQM earning power on those partners, rather than loss of earning miles completely.

edit: oops, see that sbm beat me to it.

Whatever you were smoking is there anything left for me?

Maybe you are smoking a DL paycheck?

I don't know very many FT'rs who agree with you, but you are entitled to your opinion for sure. Good news is many upgrade spaces should be open to you on DL, and I think CO and UA elite upgrade competition will be up after all the NW defectors join ranks:eek:

On another note, does DL have any SM partners for their domestic network or is it all/only DL?

Yes, we already got the memos. It's "best in class", "holistic" and "one amazing program".

Please excuse me while I puke.

Well, Scott (CO Insider) finally convinced me, along with DL's decision to downgrade food service system wide. Just faxed my Platinum Elite comp request over.

Obviously you haven't done the full analysis across the airlines. Even a cursory analysis, like I have done, shows CO and AA better for those flying 100K miles or more.

And yes, DL is absolutely without competition. Pretty much everyone else is ABOVE/BETTER THAN them!

Safe Travels.

I'll be there by dinner, might still be returning from northern MN earlier in the day.

I plan to bring my aluminum hat so we won't miss out on any last-minute conspiracy theories. If anyone is transmitting, I'll be listening.

Back on topic: CO Insider's list looks pretty good -- no negatives for me, lots of positives. Haven't yet had time to read the ~200 postings that follow! :(

I love CO and used to be PLT with them when I lived in BOS. I'd give anything to get a comp to them and leave DL behind, but being in MSN, it just doesn't work for me. I *could* drive to MKE, but MKE-IAH is an RJ (shudder). The routings just don't work many times and a lot of the flights are twice as expensive.

I love MSN, but it's either DL or deal with ORD.

Yes, I believe does. It isn't really reciprocal right now since DL has stopped honoring it on their side, so CO is choosing to do the same. A bit earlier than expected, perhaps, but the writing has been on the wall for a while now.

NOOO..... 5000 miles (through thank you 5000 miles elite giveaway) is a horrendous exchange for loss of 3 weeks of upgrades....not fair....

On a different topic, I'm considering a status match to CO but probably for 2010 year as it'll be difficult to attain Platinum status for next year...... Hopefully the red carpet will still be rolled out for me....I'll miss those CO upgrades....
