Originally posted by TravelMann: I agree that there has been some valuable information posted here that one would certainly not find in the T & C. Asking for other board members' actual experiences to gauge against what we are told in *many* programs T & Cs is *often* where Flyer Talk is most beneficial. If you've read the T &C for Idine, and feel like you have all the knowledge you need, why even click on this thread at all (the topic is quite explicit about what will be found herein). Just pass on it altogether. Are people capable of being polite? As evidenced by all (but one) post, the insight and experience shared by FT's is just about universally preferable to any T&C statement; I did read them when I signed up (about 6 months ago), and there were no similar threads (that I could see) that addressed my questions. It takes but a minute to post a thread here, and the results are MUCH more informative than any other source. What T&C is going to say: "our points will post within a 2 week period, but since our systems are so overburdened, you should KEEP all your receipts, and don't expect any results for at least a month...and if you have a problem, don't bother to call our 800#, they won't help you, but call Ms Smith in Dallas instead..". Thats' where this forum comes in handy. |
We all have to remember that Idine is taylored to the Airline IE: they udpate NWA 1x per month by request and AA says update every day. It is up to the Airline agreement with IDine no 2 will be exactly the same.

Originally posted by rrz518: Thanks guys; besides AA and UA, are there any other airlines that participate? https://www.idine.com/enroll/enroll.jhtml?clientId=NFEE I would like to point out that that web page doesn't tell the whole truth! There are definitely other airlines that participate, but apparently with those you have to come in through the airline-specific iDine site. The URL above only lists Alaska, America West, Delta, United, American, Continental, Northwest, and US Air. Well, I earn British Airways Executive Club miles through iDine on one of my credit cards, but you wouldn't know I could from that link. BA calls their iDine program Executive Club Dining, and you get there by going to: http://ecdining.idine.com Which brings up the question of how many other airlines might use iDine but not be listed on the main iDine web page? |
Regarding timing NW does only get updates once a month. However, I learned the hard way that ALL of the previous month's idine will not show up. Because of the delay in receiving data from your credit card purchase, dines that occurred on the last 2-3 days of the previous month won't post until the next month with NW.

IDine told us that both BA and NW have a special bonus if you use then 5 or 10 times, but one has to look for details with airline on these two( perhaps a special code only listed in their mailings). I searched, but cannot find. Anyone has or has info? Thank you.

There seems to be renewed interest in this topic. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
A search for the word "idine" will reveal 27 other informative threads as well. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Truly a great system. I recently got miles for two restaurants which I had no idea were a part of iDine http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I would suggest keeping your receipts, just in case.
