Elite Package is here!!
Recieved Elite package today...Luggage tag with instructions to pick up a strap at any domestic world club location, and a few coupons.
Pretty slim pickins (if that is the way to spell it). |
Got mine yesterday too. Surprised to see no booklet, but not disappointed. Was excited to see that NW add our names to the bag tags (thanks lurkers! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ) which became the same size as the card (must have saved manufacturing costs.)
I may actually use one for the first time. |
I haven't got mine yet, but I did receive my WorldPerks statement -- and guess what? It was on the non-elite paper! What should I ask for compensation? Just kidding!
|
I'm in the same boat as IP. I got my gold elite statement which I thought was my card. When I opended it I was disappointed. What kinds of offers came in the elite packet?
|
Does it include the AS upgrade coupons that have also been there in the past?
|
Some people have already reported that it does not.
|
I'm wondering that with NW&AS allowing e-tickets if certs wlll no longer be necessary....if we had booklets we would know for sure... |
I received mine today, no AS coupons here either.
|
Those AS certs were worthless anyway. I used mine for grocery lists ! Realy, when would an east coast flyer have the reason or oportunity to redeem them ! I even wrote to NWA a few times about this. It was the only experience I have had when NWA didn't respond. The personalized tags are a nice gesture though. LeSnail ------------------ |
I remember that NW did an elite chat in the 2001 year for questions and suggestions in the elite program. I realized that they didn't do another one of those last year for the 2002. Anyone know why?

My silver package arrived yesterday. No luggage tags or mention of luggage tags in the welcome letter. I guess gold & above only get the luggage tags this year?, if so I guess I have no choice but to fly an extra 25k http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

As part of a much larger itinerary, I am booked to fly from DEN to SEA with a NW code on AS metal in about five weeks. Noting the lack of AS certificates in this year's kit, what is the possibility of getting an upgrade to first on this flight?
I searched the forum. The closest answer in terms of relevance is found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum35/HTML/004716.html but the answer assumes the existence of these certificates. Unfortunately, the certificates from last year will have expired by the time of my flight. Since it's a NW ticket, I imagine I will check-in at the NW counter; perhaps they will upgrade me at that point? This is of course just speculation. |

In responce to ALANW post: I did write to NWA, in 1999, but not to complain about the certs, but rather find out if NWA was or would consider more market specific benifits in their Elite packets. ( I do recognize the usefullness of the AS certs. on the west caost)By examining Elite pax flying patterns, they could certainly see who flew primarily Domestic, Atlantic or Pacfic. As a mostly Atlantic flyer, for example, a pair of lounge passes or a M,B,Y upgrade would steer we towards their premier products. etc.etc. What I found puzzleing was the silence from MSP. NWA , in my experience, has consistantly replyed to pax letters, and usually furnishing a pleasant or helpful reply. I took no exception and let the matter drop. I would also add, that while my sister lived in LA I gave her my AS certs. , and she passed afew on to her friends. Here in BOS,I had no takers. In closing, I will add that I am very happy with the WP programme. NWA has more than recognized and rewarded my loyalty, which has been unwavering since 1979. rgds. LeSnail |
