Elevate 2 Silver
I got the following promotion in the mail today, but it appears to be targeted, so may not be for everyone:
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">
At this time, we would like to help you reach WorldPerks Silver Elite status for next year. To help you attain this valuable membership level through February 29, 2004, we are extending an exclusive opportunity to you!
1. Register at http: www.nwa.com/offers/elevate2silver or call 1-888-955-7878, ext. 7025, before your first qualifying flight and no later than December 1, 2002
2. Take only a few additional trips on Northwest- or Northwest Airlink-operated flights between September 15 and December 15, 2002:
Fly 2 roundtrips on paid fares booked in F,P,J,C,Z, or Y classes
-- or --
Fly 4 roundtrips on paid fares booked in F, P, J, C, Z, Y, B, or M classes
Because of the many Silver Elite membership benefits, only our less restrictive business fares qualify for this promotion. Based on your travel patterns to date this year, we are confident that you will achieve Silver Elite status for next year, since this offer only slightly increases your current travel frequency.

At least they dont let Q class qualify. And no wonder there isn't an Elite phone line for Silver.

Just out of curiosity, how many miles and in what fare classes have you flown this year?

There's also a targeted promtion for maintaining gold status. I wouldn't be surprized if there was a maintain platium program too. The rules for maintaining gold are about the same as getting silver. 3 trips or 5 depending on ticket class.

I belive the only "elevating" to an elite level is to Silver. For Golds and Plats, I think that all this promotion can do for is is help to "maintain" your current elite status - not bump you up a level higher than you currently are.
It would be nice if NW ran the promo they did last year around this time that allowed us to elevate one level by taking 3 flights or so depending on booking class, etc.
