I haven't used any miles before, just wondering if the miles are taken out of my account after I travel or as I book the upgrade? I upgraded a week ago but my account shows that I still have same amount. Thanks

On a recent upgrade, my (upgrade) miles were deducted about 10 days after making the request. The weird thing was, there was no transaction for the deduction listed on my acct. My current balance just changed...

It's there, just hidden. If you log into your on-line account on NWA.com, on the first screen that gives the balance summary, click on "account summary" in the top menu bar. On the next screen in the paragraph at the top of the page, look for "To view your WorldPerks used mileage (debits) account history, click here." Click on the link and it should bring up all the debits out of your account, including mileage upgrades. Hope this helps....

I might suggest that you call NW reservations a few days prior to your departure to see that the upgrade has been processed (if your account is still not reflecting the mileage deduction). When a reservations agent sets up your itinerary for an upgrade, they must send it to a "queue" to be processed...occasionally it is sent to the wrong queue or not sent at all...this could cause some hassle at the airport if it isn't completed.

Miles upgrade ticket queuing up can take up to two weeks.

Start checking your itinerary on NWA.com after a few days. This area will show your class of service along with the usual ticketing info...
