Moving On

After about 4 years as a NW forum moderator I have accepted a new assignment moderating the ORP (Only Randy Petersen) Forum.

I have enjoyed the comradery, sharing of information, diversity of our forum, and most of all the great group of FTers I now call my friends.

As I have done in the past, any NW forum FTer that has a question or seeks clarification on a matter pertaining to NW can contact me via PM and I will assist them in getting resolution or answers to whatever questions/issue they may have. I will remain an active participant on this forum and whatever help I can offer remains available to everyone.

After this moderation reassignment is complete I will continue to post my personal comments here on the NW forum.

Thanks again for 4 great years.

RC let me be the first to thank you for your service to the NW forum.

Although I may not have always seen eye-to-eye with your views on NW (particularly the fact that I don't find NW that exciting ;) ), your tireless services as a moderator of the NW forum are greatly appreciated.

Good luck over on ORP!

RC-Congrats on the new Forum and THANK YOU as well for everything.

aSiAnRiCk Dec 12, 2006 2:01 am

Congrats and good luck with your new assignment ^

MrPropaganda Dec 12, 2006 2:14 am

Good luck, RC. You have always been a great advocate of NWA, but more importantly an advocate for the WP members back to NWA.

PS. Does this mean you can spill the beans on the 2% and other tidbits? :)

RC, Thank you for your work. Even though I'm new here, I have always enjoyed reading your "exciting" posts!

jman4l Dec 12, 2006 4:05 am

Thanks for the help

RC-I always knew when I saw one of your posts-There was going to be some good inside information about NW. I hope you still maintain your contacts with NW and give us the inside information.

Thanks

GTITAN Dec 12, 2006 4:29 am

Thanks RC

Echoing others, thanks for your hard work here on the work on the forum. You were consistent even when unpopular and for better or worse, that is not an easy thing to do. See ya on the Red Tail!!:)

remedy Dec 12, 2006 5:36 am

Best wishes from a fellow "Columbusite" See you on another flight to/from cmh next year, I hope...

RC: Thanks, Congrats, and Good Luck!

Congrats on the new moderator position. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into the NW Forum over the past several years.

Jaimito Cartero Dec 12, 2006 7:12 am

This is a significant loss to the NW forum due to RC's connection to the NW management. His contribution to this board is invaluable.^

At this difficult time for the airline, Northwest flyers need someone to be excited about NW. ;)

Two questions:

1) Does "Only Randy Peterson" Forum even exist?

2) It seems to me that even if ORP exists, the mod working load will be light and RC will be in semi-retirement. Am I right? :D

ORDguy Dec 12, 2006 7:49 am

RC, thank you for all your contributions and hard work.

bostonbali Dec 12, 2006 7:53 am

RC, thanks for keeping us excited :p about NW and for doing a great job moderating this forum. Whenever possible, you acted as FT's NW liaison - communicating upcoming policy or product changes.

Any chance you could convince NW to have an official 'NW Insider' now that our unofficial insider will be gone?

respectable_man Dec 12, 2006 8:38 am

Many thanks for the valuable work. ^

Anything else from someone with your depth of knowledge of NW would be a great loss.

RC,

Thanks for all your help in the past on the NW forum. Thanks also for the individual help you have provided to me and I am sure - others as well.

Thanks RC for all of your valuable contributions over the years. I hope you will continue to post with all your inside NW info :)

It was great to have met one of the "FT" legends!!

I'm sure we'll meet again soon!

Thanks for everything!!!!

NWA_5479 Dec 12, 2006 9:26 am

Thanks RC!

You have always had a valuable remark on almost any topic, and your inside knowledge of NW augmented your abilities as a great Mod.

kb1992 Dec 12, 2006 9:31 am

well.. nobody bothered to answer my question.. :(

where is that Only Randy Peterson forum?

hnewman Dec 12, 2006 9:36 am

RC you will be missed

Not only for your insight into NW and your devotion the airline and the employees, but for your sense of good will, honorable behavior and glee. I hope to meet you someday and thank you personally.

It's secret. Invisible handshake and such. It also helps to know how to spell Petersen. :)

The ORP forum is temporarily closed - it is being relaunched

The ORP forum is currently masked (closed) and is invisible until it is relaunched. I don't know the relaunch date yet.

oops...

thanks for the link.

but, it is NOT closed.

I just managed to post something there. ;)

SchmutzigMSP Dec 12, 2006 10:20 am

Thanks, RC.

We all kid and joke around about the "exciting" times on the NW forum in the past, but I know you have worked hard for FT and the NW forum and I know you really care.

I guess thezipper is getting an unexpected promotion, and by promotion I mean heavier workload. ;)

Alpha Golf Dec 12, 2006 11:20 am

Well, to mark this Honolulu FD has to give us a water salute. But if it's ORP, doesn't Randy have to be the mod?

Anyway congrats on this exciting opportunity.

DTW-HomeyFour Dec 12, 2006 2:07 pm

Congrats RC. We will miss your leadership here in the NWA Forum. Also, I want to personally thank you for answering the many questions I have PM'd to you this year!

747UpperDeck Dec 12, 2006 2:23 pm

RC, thank you for all the time and effort you have devoted to this forum.

redtailshark Dec 12, 2006 2:23 pm

Thanks RC. Moderation must sometimes seem like a thankless task, but you've done a great job here on the NW board.

I hope you continue to rev up the redtail customer base. Get those model 744s into the WC! See you in HNL for the -10 party.

Or if that doesn't work, how about just dumping Gatorade on RC's head after the flight concludes? :D

travelerjim Dec 12, 2006 3:10 pm

Thank you for your good service :-)

Thank you RC ;)

For your wonderful stewardship of this board as Moderator.

Hope you have just as much "fun" in your new FT assignment and duties :-)

Take good care...and do come back and visit us once in a while as a FT poster.

Moving on?!?!

Just moderating elsewhere...

I'm sure RC will hang around this forum for a long time to come.

Someone will have to start these "interesting" threads!:D

RC, stick around!

I never said it was closed. RC did, but I thought it rather rude to correct him. :)

RoadWarriorWidow Dec 12, 2006 5:09 pm

Thank you, RC, for the work you've done. Much appreciated! I look forward to exciting new changes in ORP.

Thanks RC. Especially your kindness when I first started posting and made a ton of mistakes. Good luck on your new endeavor.

Although I don't post much, I'm always reading. You know so much, you will be missed. I had met you on a STL-MSP flight once a few years back.
Good luck to you.

You've always let people know where the juice is flowing. You've also worked hard to let us plebes make their desires realized. It has been brilliant--and often quite "exciting" as well! Considering all the controversy that every (no matter how benign) post can possibly foment, I can't blame you for accepting that lofted RandyPeterson upgrade offer. Tell Randy that I missed upgrades on my last two LAX flights (though the massively good coach seats on both planes were some kind of consolation).

Where's me parachute?!?

mnredfox Dec 12, 2006 6:54 pm

Thanks, Congrats, and good luck RC.
