James Page!

Was on DTW-DCA yesterday evening. Asked for the Augsburger (sp?). F/A looks on the cart, then says looks like they've loaded something else. It was a JP!

Couldn't tell if it was new stock or old... Very old. But tasted fine.

What does the inflight magazine say about beer choices now?

Alpha Golf Mar 8, 2006 11:06 am

Magazine had Augsberger.

SchmutzigMSP Mar 8, 2006 11:09 am

They've had JP when people next to me wanted Ausberger and vice-versa. Seems they've got a stockpile somewhere and whatever catering grabs is what they get.

Funny the little things we elites get happy about...

It seems like I only get flights now with James Page. I haven't tasted an Augsberger in a long, long time.

I personally likes when they had the Aug's seasonals and rotated them through. Sorta nice to look forward to the next one being rotated in.

I have been lucky and not have to had tasted a James Page in a long time. I do miss FireBrick... that was good.

Just had a JP on my flight home from MCI this afternoon, was glad to see it back!!!

notsosmart Mar 9, 2006 6:48 pm

Had one can of JP LGA-MSP a few days ago. Then they switched me to Augsberger.

Yeah, I was glad to see JP back too. I think NW can afford it now that they've scaled back to a simpler, cheaper, non-sensical, uglier three-color paint scheme on their aluminum skins. :D

The Schell's Firebrick Amber Lager is back (it's even listed in the NWA WorldTraveler magazine -- so I assume it's somewhat permanent). Anyone else try one yet? I rank it above the Augsburger Golden, but I still miss the James Page.

Hurray!^

Wow. The way you guys flip over beer, one might expect NWA to equip their planes with a frosty mug fridge.

:D

I'm beginning to think it's the only reason to put up with the EUA any more. ;)

Nice, looking forward to trying that one.

However, I don't think James Page is completely gone. Just in the last month, I felt like a JP and asked for one on a SEA-DTW Sunday night redeye and the FA had no problem finding one.

Every time I ask for beer choices, at least in the last few months that I can recall, the options are Lite, Bud, and James Page. I'm open to a new 'microbrew'. This may be sacrelidge to my minnesota brethren, but what's the draw to James Page? Seems a little bland to me. Whenever in MSP, I make an effort to get over to the C WC for the Summit EPA...that is good stuff.
