WP Miles for DL-Coded Flights?

Getting ready to go to ICN on business in a few months. The Gov't books us on Korean Air (but coded as DL 7854). My question is: will I earn World Perk miles for that DL-coded flight? The only reason I ask is that I have two co-workers have been on the flight early this spring and only one got WP miles. And he only got them because he argued with a CSR that since it was DL-coded, it should count. He did get the miles after he got a supervisor to agree. The other guy was adamently refused miles. It is the luck of who I talk with? Or does miles really only count if it is a true Delta flight and not a partner with Delta? Thanks for your info or past experience. I will save my upgrade question for later.

No WP miles.

The operator must be a partner with the program you're crediting.

You can get DL miles for this, though.

Hopefully if NW joins SkyTeam before you fly your trip, you'll be able to earn WPs miles on that KE flight. That date is uncertain.

There are identical fares to my SE Asian destination offered by KE and DL. The flights are operated by KE - but my confusion is about miles into my WP account ...

http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/earn/airfl.shtml

Appears I will earn base miles from either flights (KE or DL flight numbers) that I can dump into my WP account.

If I book the KE flight number I will NOT earn EQM for the Q class fare. Appears I would earn 100% EQM for the DL coded flight in Q class.

Can anyone confirm?

I don't see how it would matter if it were Delta coded or not. It states clearly that if it is operated By KE you just get miles, not EQM's. NW's view has always been on what direct relationship it has with the partner airline. So my guess is no EQM's.

The statement wording is slightly confusing to me ..... due to the wording about "codeshare equivalent"

Elite Qualifying Fare Classes (or codeshare equivalent) on Delta-coded, Delta-operated flights (except where noted)
Elite Qualifying Miles at 100%: Y, B, M, H, Q, K, L, U, T, G, Z, S, X, V

Elite Qualifying Korean Air Fare Classes on Korean-coded, Korean-operated
Elite Qualifying Miles at 100%: K, T, H, Z, L, X, O, V, S, W, E, X, R

I wish NW had a nice chart like CO does to make it crystal clear ...

And what about WP Elite members mileage bonuses based on their current Elite level? I don't see anything on the NW site about my 50% silver bonus for ST flights ....

The key is Operated. So let's say you are on a CO coded NW operated flight, you get whatever mileage you would have gotten if it was a NW coded flight. The rules of WP's are that you get whatever miles the rules are for that particular operating carrier. So coded means very little.

Is It Official Yet?
Looking for an update. As a NWA Plat, will I earn 100% EQM on all Delta flights that I take?

That is my understanding per the Plat Elite line. I've already requalified for Plat this year, so more EQM is just padding for me at this point.

I called the Plat Elite line to inquire about Elite Bonus mileage if I were to fly on a DL codeshare operated by Alitalia. I wasn't able to get a clear answer so I booked my trip on all DL metal to be safe (even though I will only earn a 100% Plat bonus on DL vs 125% if on NW metal).

It also took some work to get DL to assign "premium Y" seats as a NW Plat / Skyteam Elite Plus member. I will be flying DL in a few weeks from SDF-CVG-FCO / FCO-JFK-CVG-SDF. FWIW, I do have a World Club membership, but based on my SkyTeam Elite Plus status and traveling on an international ticket, which DL lounges will I have access to? Just the Crown Room, or would I be able to use the BusinessElite lounge?

Also - anyone know what my lounge options are in FCO?

Best,

SDF_Traveler

P.S. I am on a DL "K" class fare, FWIW -- not sure where that falls with DL's fare classes.

As far as EQM is concerned, your status does not matter; anyone could earn 100 % Elite Qualifying Miles on Delta Y, B, M, H, Q, K, L, U, T, G, Z, S, X, V fares! If you intended to ask about Elite bonus, you are right that you will earn (only) 100% bonus.

I believe there are two shared lounges at FCO, as a WC member I have used the one on the level above the KLM flights to Amsterdam. If memory serves it is on the B concourse. It is a very nice lounge. They offer snacks, mini-sandwiches, drinks, reading material and a shower.

I am sure that Skyteam Elite Plus will work at some of the other lounges, but WC membership will work at this one.
