Today's Boston Globe reports that the new Terminal E is now open and operating! However, the new security checkpoint won't be operational until the fall.

Is it a new Terminal E or is it just a new expansion of the existing terminal? When the new security checkpoint opens, will the existing one be eliminated? Since the new security checkpoint is not open, I imagine one just clears the existing checkpoint (woefully inadequate as it is) and just turns left to get to the new gates.

Extension; you’re correct that you just use the old one and turn left.

Curious to hear the feedback about Delta's new E lounge. I used to commute to the UK and I hated those existing E lounges with a passion.

Latest update from the Massport website: a press release dated Sept. 13, 2023 -- warning of traffic delays due to upcoming construction on the Terminal C and E roadways -- says "this project is set to be completed by this November".

It's unclear from the wording of the release whether the November completion date also includes the Terminal B roadway work or if it only refers to the terminal C and E roadway work.

Either way, we seem to be getting close...
