Somewhat related, but have been watching that spaceship that is the Terminal E extension. I assume it's going to be very nice once they get around to finishing it. And I wonder if the Terminal C taxi stand will ever return to the arrivals area, instead of in central parking. The roadwork there is making progress.

On a day of September, I was waiting for an Air Canada flight which was significantly delayed in terminal B. Usually I stay at the United Club. But that day I got three hours and do not have any carry-on other than my briefcase. So I took a small adventure: visit the Lufthansa lounge in terminal E. I chose not to exit to the landside and walk through the central garage or take shuttle, but remained airside to tour the whole terminals B, C, D and E. It took me 30+ minutes and got me very exhausted. The Lufthansa lounge receptionist did not even recognize my BP so I guessed AC guests seldom visited there (understandably). The food there was no better than the United Club but at least the beer was much better. The worse part was I had to walk another 30 minutes to AC terminals.

TLDR: yes, terminals B and E are connected airside, and no, it might not be a good idea to walk through it.

Hi all. Seems this question has been answered but just wanted to get clarification. In a few months I'll be traveling on Lufthansa from Terminal E. I wanted to try the new Chase Sapphire Lounge in between Terminals B and C. I'm not 100% on my luggage but it'll either be I will have check in luggage or I'll just have a carry on. If its the first, would it be worth it to check in at Terminal E to drop off the luggage, then take a shuttle to terminal B to stay at the lounge? Would it be better post security? And if it was just a carry-on would it be worth it to just make it through security at Terminal B and just walk airside to Terminal E some time before boarding?

Ideally you'd just have a carry-on, clear security at B, go to the lounge, then head to E whenever you want to be there. I'd budget like 10-15 mins at a normal pace to walk that airside - and yeah I'd do it airside vs reclearing security. The walk could be longer or shorter depending on where in E you need to get, but I think the gates are all still shared so you may not know until the day of the flight. If you have a bag to check, you'll have to do that at E. Totally your call if you want to go up and back. There isn't an airside shuttle. If you have the free time and want to check the place out, no reason not to.

Do you otherwise have access to the Lufthansa lounge with your flight? Their lounge isn't bad. OMAAT has a recent review up if you wanted to see pictures. It's not a windowless dungeon like the AF lounge.

This is not what you're asking, but just to throw it out there, lounges seem really crowded these days. I haven't tried a Chase lounge yet, but if there's any way to know the crowd level before going, it's worth a look. It would suck to walk all the way out there and have to stand in line.

Thanks for your insight! Pretty much what I was expecting but I wanted to be sure. I'll take a look at the Lufthansa lounge. I'm actually going to be taking a domestic flight out of B sometime this month so I'll be able to see the lounge before the big trip. Maybe my opinion might change and it won't be worth it or maybe I enjoy it so much that id be willing to walk it. 15 minutes doesn't seem too bad to me though 15 minutes with a carry on would be different. Thanks!
