Finally found it: list of non-EC-credit-granting Enterprise locations

After a big back-and-forth with National customer care about the lack of transparency with which Enterprise locations don't grant Emerald Club credit, I was pointed the following direction:

Please note a list of non-participating Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand locations is listed on our web site at www.nationalcar.com. Click on the "Emerald Club" icon, then click on " Emerald Club Program Rules"; that link will take you to "View Emerald Club® General Program Rules and Conditions".

Click on that link and a .pdf version of the Emerald Club program rules and condition will open. Scroll down to page three to point number four; listed you will find "Qualifying Rentals" and the next paragraph will state "Rental credits are not available at the following, non-participating Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand locations in the U.S. and Canada". This is where you will find a listing of locations that do not participate in the Emerald Club program.
Direct link here: https://www.nationalcar.com/national...ive-072911.pdf

Upon which I found this information:

Rental credits are not available at the following, non-participating Enterprise RentA-Car brand locations in the U.S. and Canada: Anchorage Intl Arpt, Fairbanks Arpt,

Sorry to learn that jackal had trouble finding the list. There was a detailed FAQ with the ~May 1, 2011, press release that announced the earning of free day credits/elite qualifying credits at most U.S. + Canada Enterprise locations.

Yes, I am a T&Cs kind of guy. It helps avoid disappointment.

Someone should teach them how to use Wikipedia.

In any event, to clarify for everyone else, Saskatoon is a city, as is Regina, in the province of Saskatchewan. Saying Regina, Saskatoon is sort of like saying San Francisco, Los Angeles.

Seems clear Regina/YQR's Enterprise location doesn't qualify, at least. The only question mark is Saskatoon (YXE).

Hmm. Conflict in the lists. The list I found excludes FAI and JNU, whereas the list in that link doesn't. (Kinda doesn't matter, though, as there are no Enterprise locations--yet--in FAI or JNU.)

I didn't read any farther to see if there are other discrepancies.

I learned about the whole Enterprise-credit-earning thing here on FT. I actually never saw an official announcement from National (that I recall). I don't recall the list of exclusions being posted here before. Shows what you get when you trust FT for all of your travel information.

It is not a well published feature. I had a local rental at Enterprise, showed them my EE card for the number, and they posted the rental. For folks that have local rentals, i.e. customers or corporate guests to shuttle around, this is a good benefit.

You can actually add it in when you make your initial reservation with Enterprise. It's not obvious, but click the link that says "Loyalty Programs" under "Other Options" below the corporate number field on the main screen (direct link: https://www.enterprise.com/car_renta...orateSplash.do) and then click the "Emerald Club" tab.

Interestingly, this will also apply a discount based on the default Contract ID saved in your Emerald Club profile. (I have the default EC Contract ID saved in my EC profile, and I usually get about 5% off the base Enterprise rate.) Enterprise will also have all your information on file, which will speed up your rental process slightly (and IME reduce the hardness of the hard sell ).

On that last point YMMV. I have had some very good and efficient Enterprise rentals, and I've had a couple where many of the stereotypical hard-sell elements have applied, including trying to charge a higher rate when they didn't have the car class I had reserved (as if that was the first car I'd ever rented!).

Still, I'm happy to be able to earn elite qual credit and free day credits at Enterprise, because Enterprise is in a lot of locations that National isn't.

Check your SPAM folder for an email around May 5, 2011? I got a message with the subject Important update: Earn Emerald Club rental credits at 6,000 additional locations.

Of course the Emerald Club T&Cs have the current list of non-participating locations. Where else would one look?

Enterprise - National cross fleeting?

I've noticed at some smaller stations (CAK, CLE) that the Enterprise and National fleets seem to be the same.

Is this correct?

Not just at the smaller stations. At BWI, National, Enterprise, and Alamo all pull from the same pool also.

What would be fantastic is if the National locations and Enterprise locations offered some sort of one-way rental cooperation. I expect in the months ahead we may see that given the merger and Enterprise's large number of local locations. I can get great rates from the Hertz HLE going to the airport, would be nice to get that with National also.
