Saturday morning 12/10. There were a bunch of Jeep Compasses scattered around both the EA and ES. ES also had an Impala, Mustang, Prius, and a couple Fusion hybrids.

I took one of the Fusions hybrids and got around 37 MPG over 500 miles of driving. Decent car but probably wouldn't be my top choice in the future.

Saw a 2017 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD with V6 today. Was surprised National has them already. Looked significantly smaller than the old Acadias.

They are smaller than the 2016's, and only seat a max of six instead of 7.

Passed through DCA around the time the inauguration was happening on 1/20, both EA/ES were filled with vehicles, but no real designation between the two areas, most of the nicer cars (including the 300C that I snagged were actually on the EA side). Most of the usual Friday fare (Large SUV's, Pickup trucks, and a smattering of various midsize SUV's and sedans)

Of note, there were signs posted at the exit that beginning Feb 1 (I think) National/Alamo/Enterprise are re-locating down

Yeah, I've noticed this at DCA too. I don't understand their logic, but appreciate their selection.

FYI, National/Enterprise/Alamo have switched to the 3rd floor of the garage now, where Avis/Hertz used to be.

National/Alamo/Enterprise have moved up to the top level of the garage. It is a bit easier to get in and out of the garage than before, but I'm not sure how this is a better setup otherwise.

Last Thursday was one of my worst experiences at the DCA location yet. When I arrived the combined EA/ES had about a dozen minivans, one pickup, zero sedans, and zero SUVs. That led to this exchange with the person working in the booth:

Me: Hi. I have a reservation for Executive Sel...
Agent: Take any car in those two rows over there.
Me: I know, but it's only minivans and a tr....
Agent: Take any minivan you want.
Me: Can I take one of those full size cars right there?
Agent: No. Those are for Alamo. You can only take a car from National.
Me: Do you know if any sedans are coming up for National?
Agent: No.

I stood around for 15 minutes and took a Fusion that eventually came up.

I've had the opposite experience. Just depends on what time you go.

In the past week, I've seen brand new Q5s, Q3s, MKXes, X3s, and QX30s on the regular Executive Aisle.

Yeah. Over the past year I've come to realize that this location is a total crap shoot. It could be a glut of great cars, a Jeep dealership, completely barren, or anything else. You never know.

They had a 2018(!!) BMW 430i convertible tonight. Didn't realize 2018s were out already. Sadly I was looking for something a little larger.

Today mid-afternoon they had zero cars. SUVs, minivans and several...wait for it...F-150's. Who the heck flies to DC and wants a pickup truck?

A nice lady managed to find me a Taurus that was definitely not on the Aisle. Is there some way I can send a note to her bosses?

Picked up 4/27 in the morning. Selection was sparse. Two F-150s, a Dodge Ram, Nissan Quest, and an Expedition EL. I had a 5 hour drive so I asked the employee if anything else would be coming up. Couple minutes later a 2017 Audi Q7 rolled up and she said I could take it. I double (triple) checked there was no upcharge and happily drove away.

My theory is the F-150's aren't really rentals. Someone just parked there.
