So I'm thinking of going on a cruise in the Caribbean this winter...does anyone have recent experience on which cruise lines charge a fee and which ones don't? It'd be a big deciding factor on which cruise line to take.
I see from the poster above that NCL now charges a fee, and RCCL and Princess has been doing it for awhile. What about Carnival? Are they still free? I'd appreciate the help if anyone has some recent experience |

For those want to know, you would have far better luck to post your questions on respective forums on http://www.cruisecritic.com/ This is the Go To site for all your cruise-related questions, including this particular topic.

True Happy - CC or CM is more up to date. I'm next on RCCL and LOL or SOL on options to GS and MoM (which is PU, BTW).:p

We had a discussion on CC about how to find the best airfares to points of embarkation and disembarkation and the mods deleted the entire thread. Very useful. Apparently the cruise lines are threatened by the idea that anyone could use the internet to search for fares.

Princess cruises is part of Carnival Corporation. Yes, they have slot machines that can charge credits to your room account. :)

After the first day the computer will see you are not playing the money and will lower your charging ability.
Like Vegas they watch you... |
So this will have limited success? My parents are on a Carnival cruise right now and I'm wondering if I should tell them about this.

Indeed the big eye in the sky, like Saruman, directs the Cardinals to give you religion.
The old days are somewhat over.

Thanks For the Info
Just wanted to say thank you for this valuable info. I am sailing in two weeks on NCL and had planned on using my card to get money and gamble, now I know I can't do this because I refuse to pay 3% for the privilege. So now I have to take what I can lose. Thanks Again!

Ya know the odds on the slots can be adjusted? An old trick involves the outer perimeter machines having better odds but lower payouts to attract customers in the opening days of the cruise.

Cruise ships slots do have the best odds out of anywhere though. The cruise ships want you to leave happy... and tell friends. Vegas could care less people no matter what, people will continue to come.
