The best site I've found for parking discounts to date has been http://www.longtermparking.com
They have coupons and discounts grouped by state and airport.

At IAH, I use AMPCO Parking.
1) Parking is $10/day for covered parking (a must for Houston) but there is a coupon available from longtermparking.com for a FREE day after a 3day minimum stay. For example, parking from Friday Afternoon to Sunday night only costs $20 instead of $30+tax

2) For every 15 days worth of paid parking, you receive 2 days free. Not much compared to other places I've parked, but its a nice perk.

3) For every Frequent parker card you fill up (15 days), you are supposed to receive 200 Continental Onepass miles. Its been hit or miss on receiving these miles but its a nice surprise to see when you log in every so often.


In Dallas (DFW) I was always a big fan of PCA Parking. The coupons you can get off of longtermparking.com lowered the $10/day daily rate for indoor parking down to $6.50. 30 days worth of paid parking nets you 10 days free. A great deal but since I don't live in Dallas anymore its kinda useless for me.

FWIW, I've heard good things about Wallypark.
They aren't at any airports I fly out of yet (Seattle and LAX only) but the WallyGuard protective walls between cars would be worth my money anyday. I don't know why more parking places don't have this feature. Hell, I'd pay more money to know that some slack-jawed yokel in his SUV isn't flinging his door into my car.

It's kinda scary to think there are some months where my Audi is parked at the airport more often than in my garage. sigh.

What kind of parking programs are available at John Wayne Airport in Orange County?

xyzzy- what was wrong wth Mr. B? I was thinking of changing from Corporate since they let you lock you own car and offered free car wash.

I have parked at almost every lot at LAX in search of the perfect combination of price, convenience, benefits and frequent parker program, and IMHO The Parking Spot at LAX is far and away the best operation. Both locations are superbly run and very importantly, the shuttles are frequent. As mentioned by ss255, when you drop off/pick up your car your car, the driver will give you a chilled bottle of water and a stack of USA Today's are usually available on the shuttle. The shuttle drivers and other employees are generally very friendly and pleasant.

The price is pretty competitive, and with the One Free Day of Parking (NO MINIMUM STAY!!!) coupon from LongTerm Parking.com, for shorter stays, the price can't be beat. If you are only doing a one day trip, the price is extremely competitive (FREE!!!!).

Their frequent parker program is great. After every stay, your frequent parker card is stamped. After twelve stays (including free days if you use the above mentioned coupon), you get twelve consecutive days free. I have used the free days for family vacations and free ain't too shabby.

I don't understand why folks would park anywhere else at LAX. I would never park at ParkOne (unless going on a very short trip wtih WN @ Terminal 1 and I am running late), because your car is exposed to the jet exhaust and the sun beats down on your car. Also, the Park One price verges on extortion.

Thanks for the update! I think for some trips it's still more cost-effective (and less time-consuming) for me to just cab it-I live in Manhattan Bch so cabs aren't that expensive, but for others it might come in handy.

For Manhattan Beach, MTA bus 232 goes straight down Sepulveda and Torrance bus 8 goes down Aviation. Both stop at Century and Sepulveda (or you can take the shuttle bus from 96th into LAX) and both have excellent frequency. If you live near Sepulveda or Aviation, this is mighty convenient.

The Parking Spot also has wallet-sized cards in every van with the number for dispatch when you return, or better yet -- program the number into your cell phone. You can call them, and they'll immediately dispatch a shuttle to pick you up if one is not already en route. There's no reason to ever wait more than 5 minutes for a return pickup.

A co-worker of mine just returned from a trip, and informed me that my company has a 20% corporate discount with The Parking Spot. I had no idea, and it never occurred to me to ask. Just thought I'd mention this in case anybody else "didn't think to ask," either.

For my needs, the best frequent parker programs are Avis and National, followed closely by Hertz and a Canadian outfit called Discount Car rental.

I receive a minumum of 1000 miles every trip, and sometimes as many as 3000 miles.

This has been a very useful thread for me -- I've already earned one 5-day certificate from Preflight out of BWI and am well on my way towards another.

Unfortunately, I have some interational flights I'll need to take out of IAD. Can anybody recommend a Dulles location with a frequent parking program? A quick web search turned up nothing.

Agreed - Airport Fast Park is good for BWI - when you sign up, they send you a coupon for 4 free points (8 points for a free day) or a free car wash. The $5/$6 coupons expire on 3/31, but from what I understand, they recycle the coupons & just change the dates.

I don't think that there are any long-term parking lots at IAD - I think their new garage is reasonably priced though.

Anyone have any suggestions for cheap any easy overnight parking at MCI?

FWIW..I would never, ever leave any of my vehicles in the airport parking lots.
