Best FF/points programs for golfers?
I'm writing an article for Golf Digest about frequent flyer/points programs for golfers: what are the best strategies for getting to golf destinations on FF miles, who has the best golf-themed rewards packages, and so on.
If anybody has an opinion on this subject and wouldn't mind being interviewed for my article, please let me know. Thanks. Pete |
I certainly am no expert, and have never golfed in connection with a FF program. However, US Airways has a pretty extensive golfing program. See http://www.usairways.com/golf/index.htm for more information. Seems like they have almost every incarnation of earning and redemption opportunities.

Welcome to FT Pete!
I have never redeemed miles or points for any golf related vactions but I wanted to point you in this direction for your article. Several airlines have some sort of golf affiliation program. You get e-mails with special offers and some golf related auctions. http://www.usairways.com/golf/ http://www.delta.com/prog_serv/deltagolf/index.jsp |
Please drop me a mail with more specific questions. I love the golf digest and would actually love to write about courses I have played and the region around them, entertainment, hotels, restaurants, etc.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I am a two handicap player and fly almost exclusively for golf tournaments (amateur championships) and golf vacations. LH member because I am from Germany and signed up with them about 6 years ago when an LH agent advised me to do so. Two of my threads are accesible via the following links: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum81/HTML/004242.html (South Africa Trip Report, including FF award and Mileage Run in F and nice courses, also have photos available, e-mail me) and places to play (Flyertalker opinions): http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...ML/010608.html |
Mr SusieQ loves to play golf!
We were at the Sheraton Resorts in Fiji over Christmas, (so he could play golf on Christmas day), and believe they offered an spg "instant reward" for a day of unlimited golf. I'm sure there are hotel programs that offer this kind of thing, that may be of interest to you. I am planning a 3 week golf holiday in Malaysia next month, and must say that Malaysian Tourist Board has a wonderful 71 page colour brochure that has information on 50 golf courses throughout their country. (not sure if that covers them all!) With the current rate of exchange, I believe Americans would find the deluxe resorts and golf courses very reasonable. |
