my spouse makes allowances for my Executive Platinum "fetish". went to Paris for a weekend to achieve this, bought she, her mum, and our daughter fragrances. everybody's happy. our relationship benefits from me returning home from biz trips in F ...

Edit: almost forgot, our romantic moments are often spiced up with "I want to take you to <fill in blank>, in first class".

I can also say that when I get near to a miles goal, I am a bit obsessed as well.

I have to admit I’m enjoying plenty of his perks but sometimes I believe his brain just works with miles…so…the question is, is it normal that in a nice evening at his home when I turn all mellow, sweet and romantic his sudden reply after 5 minutes in silence is to point out that after my next flight to Hong Kong I will become AA Platinum?

Mrs Gamecock just doesn't understand my new found points fetish. I try to lure her to exotic locations such as China, Montreal and the Outback, and she accuses me of just being after her just for EQMs...

My husband doesn't really understand the miles and points game- he just wants to go on a family vacation to Hawaii every February and wants to go for "free". Hawaii is worth day dreaming about and is a very romantic destination.

It is perfectly normal to fixate on your FF account balance. My Wife used to roll her eyes a lot at me, but once she went from ABE to SFO and back in F, she fully understands the need to maximize your miles experience. Now she always ask me how my account balance is, and what status level I will achieve this year. Momma doesn't like to fly in the back of the plane anymore!

It's not how big your point balance is, but how far you can go with it...
