I know my typing must have gone to hell when it is corrected by arturo!

baobab Mar 30, 1999 9:29 am

arturo appears to be of the "do as I say, not as I do" school of management...

arturo Mar 30, 1999 12:51 pm

arturo atend mushroom skool of menageriemint.

KatW Mar 30, 1999 12:58 pm

One man's mushroom is another's fungus.

timfucius Mar 30, 1999 1:44 pm

How interesting. I was just shopping for a fare for NYC from LAX. And by being a very busy route I thought that I could find competitive rates. But then again, since they are probably 90% for business rates are kept pretty high.

Tim

ps. I think I need a "Arturonese" thesaurus.

kyklin Mar 30, 1999 2:04 pm

I think arturo attends the "do (as I say, not as I) do" school of management...

arturo Mar 30, 1999 3:20 pm

arturo giv yu defynytion of hes skool--abjecktiv of mushroom skool is "to keep em en dark an feed em lots of doo-doo."

Rudi Mar 31, 1999 2:06 am

management by mushrooms definition (sorry for an inadequate translation from german):

- let your people in the dark,
- daily distribute some "sh it",
- when they are grown up, cut their heads.

NJDavid Mar 31, 1999 4:13 am

FYI (sorry to go non-omni, but pandering to CATMAN)

CO's EWR-LAX fares for the end of the year (I've been pricing October for tht last few months) just got cut in half - $3xx down from $6xx..

arturo Mar 31, 1999 8:18 am

arturo sey gracias two rudy. he kno mushrooms. butt rudy, yu sey "sheet" en yur massage. arturo sey "doo-doo" en hes an "doo-doo" niser then "sheet".

Catman Mar 31, 1999 11:39 am

Thank you NJDavid for getting us back on topic (if only temporarily!)

Now if CO is reducing rates, I'm wondering if the other airlines will follow!

OMNI: This cat does not care about mushrooms or whatever else that's not travel related on this forum! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

baobab Mar 31, 1999 2:11 pm

If you eat the right type of mushrooms they can make you fly...

sorry Catman, but I couldn't resist. I will go back to being a meece now.

Catman Mar 31, 1999 2:42 pm

That's ok Baobab. IN fact, since I'm going to be away and you were so funny and made me laugh you are welcome to fill in as CMDR Catcop if you so desire.

But give the mushrooms to Arturo. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

baobab Mar 31, 1999 2:44 pm

Thank you, Catman.

Please note, Matt Wald and co - no tree puns will be tolerated in the Cat-Cop's absence!! (and we all saw Catman's cats doing the arturo wave...)

Catman Mar 31, 1999 2:56 pm

Very OMNI: My mind's on Hurricanes!

The cats will watch the board as well!!!

Eddie just sharpened his claws.

And YAZ likes to meow in the dead of night and wake up tired frequent flyers dreaming of double mile bonuses.

So enjoy and no tree references and no cat attacks and be nice to everybody!

HAVE A MEOWY WEEKEND!

arturo Mar 31, 1999 9:27 pm

arturo sey "trees" ar nise. meybe comicmander katkop knot hav kats sharpin klaws on nise "trees".

kokonutz Apr 1, 1999 6:40 am

I'd be worried about you being deputy catcop, Baobab, but I do believe that your bark is worse than your bite! I'll TRY to leaf you alone while catman's gone by branching out into other areas of humor. Besides, it gets boring if you put your roots down into one type of joke. So, knock on wood, you won't see me going out on a limb to make tree jokes at all...

Have we sunk to puns?

baobab Apr 1, 1999 7:46 am

Matt - the Cat-Cop will get you on his return, and in the meantime, beware: I may set arturo on you!

arturo Apr 1, 1999 9:04 am

arturo Apr 1, 1999 12:09 pm

arturo wan to kno how yu tel ef babybab tree es "she"?

baobab Apr 1, 1999 12:16 pm

I partook of one of PremEx's cubanos in his presence, arturo...

And I thought I was a fig to you, PremEx.

(I'm not a terribly good Co-Cop, am I? Oh well. This thread is officially declared "OMNI")

kyklin Apr 1, 1999 12:26 pm

None of you are correct. The only way one can differentiate between types of trees is to get/ask a woodpecker. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

If you want to know why, e-mail me so I can send you the joke!

Sorry if I offended anyone with my post.

arturo Apr 1, 1999 12:27 pm

JAWS_II Apr 1, 1999 12:48 pm

Well, Ol' JAWs is going to agree with arturo. This is definitely NOT a "shady" joke board. Frankly, I am surprised that kyklin posted such, since kyklin's posts are generally in line with the spirit of FlyerTalk. kyklin, please delete or edit your post.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

JAWs

kokonutz Apr 1, 1999 1:47 pm

Sorry for starting this. I guess I'm a real sap. Well, with baobab at the elm as cmdr catcop, the bloom is off my pun blossom. By the way, it's pine with me if you want to get personal, Arty, but remember, when push comes to shove, no one will stump for you if I have to beat you to a pulp http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif!!

OK, OK, I'll stop, I promise! Blame it on a virtual friday (no work for me tommorrow)...

JAWS_II Apr 1, 1999 3:00 pm

kyklin, Thank you very much for the edit.

Now, let's get on with the professional reputation (except Matt) that we have established at FlyerTalk.

NJDavid Apr 1, 1999 3:31 pm

Our "proffessional reputation"?

and that would be......

conniving, scheming and otherwise surreptitiously gaining as much miles as we can in any way possible????

JAWS_II Apr 1, 1999 3:39 pm

NJD, I'm amazed at the command you possess of a professional vocabulary!!!!!! Well done!

baobab Apr 1, 1999 6:41 pm

I have to say that I did enjoy kyklin's joke, and though it may have been somewhat adult in nature, it was very funny...

It's worth e-mailing him to ask for it.

Thanks to all for keeping this a G-rated site.

PremEx Apr 1, 1999 6:50 pm

It's begining to look like a Tree-Rated site to me. And Matt Walnut...great job as usual.

baobab Apr 1, 1999 8:11 pm

Matt and I are distant cousins, PremEx: Wald means 'forest' in German.

PremEx Apr 1, 1999 8:40 pm

And if my mother had wheels, she'd be a wagon.

NJDavid Apr 1, 1999 9:47 pm

ashes to ashes......
