NW Status Match
 

Has anyone attempted a NW status match in the last month, would they still be offering it with the imminent merger to sky miles in october?

i don't think of it this way. Since S7 is joining OW in 2010, this might be part of the integration.;)

What is the LH offer? Didn't see that referenced to in this thread

I faxed them a request 2 weeks ago asking them to match my CO Plat. I have not heard back yet. Others have said they are taking two or more weeks lately to respond so I suppose I am still in the wait and see window. It would be a good move for them since I don't want to leave Skyteam when CO leaves.

Just got one. With the merger though you better hurry. Mine is only valid until 2/10, I need to ask some others if this is the norm.

This would be interesting to know - or in general for OW, as it seems they don't do so much status matching as ST and *A.

I did a switch to UA a couple of years ago. Told them I flew 200k a year and they sent me a GS card by fedex the next day.

200K a year!! I am surprised they did not send their MD to deliver it personally. :p

question about matching to CO
 

I am wondering exactly how/when to request a match to CO.

This year (3/09-2/10), I am a legit NW Gold, as is Mrs. Psychtobe.

For 3/10-2/11 we are 'fakie golds' because NW/DL gave us some bonus EQMs (10k each) for no reason. Without them we would only requal at the silver level.

If we request a status match to CO, for the 3/10-2/11 period (I assume that's what we get if we requested now) would we get gold (based on current status) or silver (based on the fact that our current calendar year 2009 flying only would make us silver)?

Just faxed DL a request for status match from UA - they gave me Silver Med., down from the level where I was on UA, but can't complain.

They didn't send any notification though, even though I gave return fax, email, phone, etc - I had to book some tickets to Heathrow and kinda went "Oh, I guess Delta never got back to me, so I'll go United"... but just on whimsy checked my Skymiles account and -hey!- my status changed... I assume I'll get a card in the mail one of these days though, so possibly a moot quibble with my new favorite airline... :)

A heads-up would be good, but I caught it in time to book on DL.

Huh? That makes no sense. Maybe I should just call up and tell them I fly 350k a year, and they'll make me a GS, too. No chance.

It takes to get the actual card from Delta. I got a Delta Match about 2 weeks ago; still no card. Anyone know how long? Thanks.

I suppose I am left to assume that the request I faxed in to NW 2 1/2 weeks ago would be officially dead now that Worldperks is officially dead. Just re-checked my ex-WP acct and see I have been 'upgraded' to "SkyMiles Member" but no un-notified status comp. NW was known for taking 2 weeks to respond but it seems Delta responds faster so I'll interpret the the lack of response from Delta to mean it was not forwarded from NW. I suppose I will resubmit my request to Delta. Pretty sloppy of them to sit on it so long and/or lose it in the transition. A number of ticket purchases hang in the balance since I have a solid travel schedule for the rest of this year and Q1 '10 but am holding off purchasing the flights until I see what my options are going to be.

Hmm. OK, Logging into my Worldperks/Skymiles account on nwa.com yields no indication I have any new found status. Logging into it on delta.com yields the same result. But changing my FF number on an upcoming NW reservation on nwa.com from my Plat CO Onepass number to my Worldperks/Skymiles number still yields Platinum/SkyTeam Elite Plus when I enter it as either an NW or DL number. So I guess I'm comped DL/NW Plat??? to match my CO Plat although there has is still no notification of for how long nor does it show anywhere other than when I entered it into a reservation??? I suppose I am waiting for a letter or something. Well good... I think.
