Wow, I was an OLBIE from the start then!

You know, I can't help but think that the FlyerTalk version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon would simply HAVE to be how quickly that you can turn a thread into a reference about doc or do's or moderation.

That, in my view, would define an oldbie....

Punki Feb 18, 2003 9:24 pm

Please do not confuse me with an oldbie simply because I am pre="registered".

My older brother, Rudi, registered me for FlyerTalk before I was even born. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I think this thread has become an oldbie.

Next!....

We actually have had this rule about NEBIEWS in our seasonal ski houses for 10+ years now.

In terms of cleaning up, etc, the pun-like rule goes like this:

"The NU-Guy does everything until he/she is not da NU-Guy anymore. Then the NU-Guy does everything"

Seems you are til you are no more... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
But the big question is, does it go by the number of miles you have or experience with them, or what? And can you earn miles by the number of posts, number of words typed in one (I'd get that one) or any of these?

Maybe the FT should have some awards on this one!

It's fun for us to joke about newbies, but we are all newbies at one time and this site is very helpful for those who want to become oldbies at FF and getting the most miles for your mania.

It's always about flying!

I think my post count is too high! I want to be more of a newbie. I want more than 100 or 200 posts, but no more than 500. What if the boss sees that my post count is getting high.

Did anything happen to doc? Once, in another board, one poster announced (real, not a hoax, I believe) that another poster was killed in an accident.

Man, someone else who thinks I'm a bad example.

Here in Youngstown we had a pretty Karaoke Jockey (KJ) who introduced me as "not a bumblebee, not a worker bee, not a queen bee, not a Weatherbee, not an Applebee--
He's a DOUBLE-B!
My nickname is 'Double B' because I hope to reach the BB skill level in Volleyball & my middle name is 'Barry.'

eager to learn Feb 19, 2003 6:35 pm

i have been reading this board for a couple of years and have gained so much from the wisdom of others. Thank you for sharing-- although i have not contributed much here i do help others i know who do not frequent the board with the wisdom and info i have gleaned from here. I absoulutely consider myself a newbie-- still do not understand all the different codes for diff classes of fares etc etc.- i guess one is an oldie when one has the confidence a newbie (like me) doesnt.

When you learn to spell his name correctly.
Lower case d is the first letter and was for over 30000 posts the other two letters were also lower case. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

When you learn to post without an edit

Are there really "newbies" and "oldies," or whatever?

Or just FT'ers? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
