10,000 Delta SkyMiles from AT&T Wireless

Went to sign up for SkyMiles via AT&T Wireless and found that the offer doubled + ongoing earn:

10,000 Delta SkyMiles for activation on plans $59.99 and up with a two year agreement,PLUS earn 1 mile for every dollar spent on qualifying wireless usage each month!

Can still get 5K for plans below $59.99, but you don't get the ongoing earn as well.

We are thinking of doing this -- sort of.

If we get TWO phones, we'll get 5K miles for each one -- so that is still 10K.

If you sign up for monthly online billing (according to the flier in the Amex bill), you do get miles for wireless payments..as I understood it. Not sure why the first poster thinks you have to get a plan for at least $59.99/month to get 'ongoing miles'.

If I've got it wrong -- feel free to enlighten me Thanks.

Just a thought. I believe the wireless carriers will have to make your number available to you by November. THen you will be able to change to any provider you choose at anytime. I think youmay see more and bigger offers to lock in with carriers as they scramble to keep or enitce business from their competitors. Something to think about before you commit to 2 years with a carrier. Also if you have a dual nam phone you should be able to have 2 numbers and get 2 bonuses.

Along these lines...

I am a current AT&T Wireless subscriber. I have called and spoke to various AT&T reps regarding these offers since they first appeared last year. Just today I called regarding the ongoing 1 mile per $1 offers. Needless to say, no one had a clue. Yes, the reps heard something about mileage offers, I was even transferred to the Delta sign-up phone number. But to no avail. One rep said that no mileage promotions currently show up as available on my account because I am a GSM (not 'digital') subscriber.

Are there any other current AT&T Wireless subscribers out there that know any more as to if it is possible to get the 1 mile/$1 offer, or how AT&T Wireless coordinates these deals with the airlines? The reps couldn't even offer me a number or address for a marketing or suggestions department (one suggested I go to the closest AT&T Wireless store and ask!). Any help would be appreciated.

P.S.- I was aware of the automatic payment and online billing bonuses, but nothing else.

I just this morn have had it with AT&T. They advertise these offers and don't follow up with posting miles. I signed up for worldnet service, was charged for 2 months, and they refuse to post my miles because i canceled service after 2 months.. I don't trust them and have mentioned this is deceptive advertising. Can you tell I am frustrated? any ideas?

The 'ongoing miles' - 1 mile per $1 spent each month - is only available on the $59.99 and up plans according to the website. Sounds like there are other things you can get miles for, but they're not recurring, or ongoing, awards.
