upgrader - please don't surrender, there's really no point being made from me other than - "There's many ways to look at all this but i hope you will always consider that the magazine itself is not worthless"

While we have over 100,000 subscribers to the magazine, there's some 400,000 plus visitors to FlyerTalk on a monthly basis and I make no apology to the fact of trying to get the other 300,000 plus visitors into the magazine.

While I can't (at this time) bring you elite status and upgrades....i can most certainly bring you more miles and points. Of course there's little doubt that we are still being blasted with email pleading and asking for the Starwood promotion to return. And as always, it begs an answer to the question - "Was it InsideFlyer or was it the miles?"

Well before the magazine - thanks for your support of FlyerTalk.

Thanks Randy for the feedback. I have been lurking around the boards for some time now and have really benefited from the information on FlyerTalk. I have finally gotten brave enough to share my comments. I also am one of the new subscribers to InsideFlyer (Starwood promotion) and want you to know that after reading my first few issues I am amazed at the amount of information that each issue holds - it has been the best 60 dollars that I have spent in a long time!

1 Delta award on Concorde= 160,000 Delta miles
160,000/3000= 54 subscriptions

54*59.95= $3,237.

A Concorde RT is $10,440.

I am thinking of doing it, since I missed the Starwood/Qantas fun.

OR WHAT AM I MISSING?

I started a new thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/007284.html

to discuss the specific implications of this InsideFlyer prome.

Thanks Randy!

Delta does NOT currently have any AF awards
for the Concorde, or even first class. The
highest award is in business class. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Hi Randy,

I must say that whilst the offer of Starwood points was a great motivation, having received the Inside Flyer magazine and guidebook, it is well worth every cent of the $59.95. I enjoy reading the magazine and read it front to back. It's great there's a magazine dedicated to us frequent travellers. Well done Randy. And anyone out there who isn't subscribing at the moment, definitely do it. Also, if you are doing it for the miles, give your subscription to someone else or hand some copies out to others who may value it.

Delta does currently have a Concorde award, you just have to know where to look in order to find it.

I purchased just one subscription under the SPG promotion, was impressed with the swift posting of the points and already took advantage of an award. The magazine also arrived quickly and had valuable information though much of it is available on this and that other forum. Some people do prefer print editions. The big disappointment was the 7th edition of The Official Frequent Flyer Guidebook with a copyright date of 2000. In an industry with almost daily changes much of the info is seriously out of date. TWA Aviators ceased on Nov 30 2001. Where are webflyernet, clickrewards (not the new incarnation), netincentives etc. etc., all programs now justly in loyalty program hell? Please, Randy, tell us that you are diligently working on a new edition and will send it to all of us who took you up on your offer.

Am I missing something here? To get approximately 25,000 miles and a free domestic ticket on Delta, you would need to purchase 8 packages @ $59.95 each. (You would then have 24,000 bonus miles and, if you used your Delta Skymiles card, an extra 959.20 points and almost enough for a free award ticket.) So you've spent $479.60 for a free domestic ticket. I don't see that as much of a bargain. Plus you have no additional miles toward elite status. Am I incorrect in my math or my logic?</font>
I did not see this idea posted, so I'll throw it out for consideration:

If you are in business, this might be a nice gift for your customers who are also frequent travelers. They get a great magazine and guide. You get to write off the expense AND GET THE MILES!

Am I wrong?
