Ann Margaret on NWA Aug 30 from MSP to Green Bay. She flew FC and was escorted into the WorldPerks club prior to boarding, then was personally escorted to her FC seat 10 minutes before boarding began. She was with a male companion and her little white dog. She kept her big hat and large dark sunglasses on the entire trip. She was in town doing The Best Little Whore House in Texas play. She kept to herself and didn't talk to anybody, even on the plane.

Just sat by Al & Tipper Gore last week from MSP-DCA on NW. Al didn't look so good - scruffy beard and significantly heavier.

Crampedincoach: you thought Al Gore looked much heavier? I saw him in suburban VA about three weeks ago and thought he looked great---love the beard. Really. Maybe he's put on a few lbs, but if so, it's got to be under ten-- nothing like the 30 or 50 pounds some columnists are claiming.

John Olerud - Roaming the halls in high school, and around campus at WSU

Various Seahawks including Dave Kreig, Steve Largent, Paul Stanski, Bobby Joe Edmonds, Norm Johnson .. they used to come to the movie theatre where I worked.

Richard Gere filmed a movie in the building where I worked. His then wife Cindy Crawford came to visit the set. Rosie Greer also worked in the building.

The only airport sighting was Owen Hart the WWF wrestler..about 3 weeks before his accident. We have a mutual friend and Owen arranged will call tickets for my brother to see a live PayPerView event. So, in return I picked him up at the airport when he was here on an overnight. He signed a photo and a action figure for my kids. He was the nicest guy!

Saw Glen Sather today while sitting in the MLL in YYZ waiting for a flight to LGA. Several minutes later he was joined by a Eric Lindros - guess Mr. Sather was escorting Eric down to New York to begin training camp. While the double-takes of passerby in the lounge were quite amusing, the rudeness of some people who felt the need to openly stare was not quite so funny.

I boarded the flight fairly early, and took my seat up front in 4A. I assumed that Mr. Sather and Eric would be sitting together, removing the glimmer of hope of having one of them as a seatmate. However, it turns out that Eric was beside me in 4B, and Mr. Sather was back in 6D.

So, I was presented with a dilemma: To chat, or not to chat? I decided to stay quiet, and respect Eric's privacy. Eric spent the duration of the flight skimming through the 5-6 magazines he had brought aboard, and didn't say a word to me. The flight ended uneventfully, and I exited to catch my cab.

Now, the question: What would the rest of you have done? Note that I am a huge hockey fan, but also a firm believer in the right to privacy, even for public figures.

Feeling a little torn,

In my travels I have met many celebrities and appreciate the fact that they deserve their privacy.

When seated next to one, I will generally make one innocouos remark. That response generally dictates what happens next. I have had a supreme diva http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif scowl/yell at me. Alternatively, I have had another person tell me enough stuff that if I sold it to People magazine I could retire!

Just be yourself and see what happens!

Zombie,

I would have offered Glen Sather to exchange seats. I'm sure they would have been very appreciative of that offer and who knows they may have seen to it that you got a couple of tickets to a future game.

LaVar Arrington last year when he must have been returning from the NFL combine in Indy.

My travelling companion (business associate) got an autograph.

Almost an assured siting for famous people is on the Shuttle routes between DC and NY.
I was on one flight with Marion Barry (whom later that evening I saw being ripped on by Chris Rock on his show) and Stevie Wonder... both on the same flight.
On a more recent flight, Hillary Clinton was in the row next to me.
Always a possibility to see someone interesting on those shuttle flights!

If anyone remembers Paul Horning from the first Packer Glory Days, I saw him this morning on a WN flight to Chicago.

I was good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, I was on a LGA_MSP flight with Al Franken last night. I talked to him a little while standing next to him in line to pre-board. He was a nice enough and pleasant guy.

I wanted to know if a book was forthcoming entitled "George W. Bush is a spoiled, out-of-touch, irresonsible, idiot." He informed me that in his opinion, W. was far too easy a mark, and "boring and vacant".

Great, now here comes the audit. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
