VS UC had all-plastic on LHR-JNB and back. Kind of disappointed. |
SQ's intra-Asia (no onward segments to the U.S.) had silverware.
CX's new plastic ware is very nice. |
My favorite story is that in November, 2001, in Brisbane, they took away my 4" metal finger nail file. Then Qantas served me lunch and provided a metal knife some 6-7" long. Didn't see metal knives again, but got a good laugh over it all. So it's not just in the US where things are irrational.

Same story here, but this was boarding a boat for a dinner cruise. Confiscated the 2" swiss army thing on key chain and later served dinner with steak knives as you described!

Originally posted by satish_ny: British Airways Concorde from London to New york on March 15, 2002 - all plastic! No, in regard to one comment above, the UK has banned all metal, and if on Crossair, it snuck in... Please, ssshhhhhhhhhh, don't say anything. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Crossair will get nailed for that, as they can have metal to other Euro destinations and the plane just gets turned around... The fact that the Concorde is all plastic ought to be a clue... and sorry, that is so bad! |
