OneWorld Training Hype
-----
BRITISH AIRWAYS and its "oneworld" airline alliance partners said their global link-up would be cemented on February 1. BA, AMR CORP, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas will link their frequent-flyer programmes, smooth transfers for passengers between their flights and launch some round-the-world fares. The airlines, forming one of several global air alliances, said their 220,000 employees had spent 255 man years on training and communications to deliver what the new brand offers. ----- By my calculation that works out to less two hours per employee... |
It works out to 2.4 man hours by my calculations (2080 manhours/manyear), but still nothing to brag about by far!
|
Not all employees will be getting this training though... (e.g. cargo people, ground crew, etc) Only the ones who deal with passengers.
|
There ya go...using common sense to ruin a good snipe! LOL
|
I'm sorry QuietLion... but BA is part of oneworld, so I had to defend them.
Now, if you want to start sniping about *other* alliances... |
Bab's: All we need now is someone to 'fly the BA flag' in Asia-Pac and we have got this board covered 24hrs a day. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I'm new to this forum but I thought I would throw my 2cents in on one of my favourite topics.
My experience so far when asking AA, BA and QF customer service staff (ground and in flight) about oneWorld is that they know just about as much as we do. I'm just glad I get to fly two of my favourite airlines and they contribute to my favourite ff program. And since I am in Asia-Pac you might just see me wave the BA flag from time to time - have no complaints with them so far (just wish their first class food was as good as QF's ;-). Let's hope some of the BA and QF notions of what first and business class means will rub off on AA. |
