FlyerTalk 400
Bill Gates may have the most dough, but he doesn't get FF miles for Gulfstream V hops. Lets see where we all rank on the FlyerTalk 400: reply '5' if less than 100,000 miles; '4' if 100,001 to 500,000; '3' if 500,001 to 1,000,000; '2' if 1,000,001 to 2,000,000; and '1' if 2,000,001 + (total miles available for rewards, all airline programs).

I read that Bill Gates bought a Boeing plane, perhaps a 737, for $60 million. He doesn't own a Gulfstream.
Available miles may not be the best measure. Lifetime miles may be better. For example, in my case, I have something like 5-6 million lifetime miles earned on all airlines (mostly Delta), but only about 1 million sitting unused at the moment. Bruce |
Topster, using your criteria I'm a 2. Using Bruce's I'm a 1.

I'm 4 and 4. For all you kadjillion milers here, ChuckDEE is looking for a job that involves much travel. Any openings at your company? Of my 300,000+ miles in the past several years, only one measly trip was paid for by an employer! ------------------ preez mine da pratform gahp. |

So why didn't you ask three weeks ago? I just gave out over 200,000 for Christmas! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif I guess it really wouldn't help me anyway. I'm such a small fry. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Linda |
2 and 1. I too give them to the children for Christmas. I started a program three years ago where I set up their own accounts with me. That way I did not have to request awards for them that might expire. It also lets them chose how they want to use their miles. My daughter decided that she wanted to use her miles for first class travel to Hawaii. In the days before my having a phantom account for her I would have had to pay to change the gift awards to the one she wanted. This way everyone is happy.
