And I thought you were a Mighty Ducks fan- too bad.....

"just lay down in the overhead bin, sir. we'll open the door for you when we get to BKK."

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd be more than happy to upgrade to the overhead on a 10 hour flight. Gimme a few pillows and I'm all set.

i'm sorry 747, but you are forgetting something about the wage freeze, as you call it. they received something in exchange for that wage freeze. they received a share of the company which they agreed was equal to the value of what they gave up in pay. they didn't simply take a pay cut, and get nothing in return. that seems to be getting lost here.

Based on today's value of UAL stock, not only did they take a wage freeze, but their income has DECLINED significantly since ESOP was initiated. But thats another story.

I said this before and I will say it again. You CANNOT penalize the machinists for playing fair and negotiating in good faith for their raises, while REWARDING ALPA for its blackmail of last summer.

you didn't really think you were going to get the whole overhead to yourself did you? that would be inefficient. you'll share it with at least two others....

btw, i can cheer for the mighty ducks. any team with "ducks" in the name can't be all bad....

you can't base their ESOP earnings on today's price. they agreed to the price they paid for the share of the company. they got what they paid for.

that being said, i will agree that the employee owner pilots at UA then decided to plunder "their" company, and pushed their way to the front of the line in order to be the biggest pig at the trough. that being said, had the mechanics been able to, they would have gorged themselves first.

none of these "employee/owner" groups act like owners. when you watch other airline unions scream for management pay cuts, why don't the "employee/owners" (i.e. the management of UAL) lead by example?

i think you and i get to the same destination, we just use different clearances...

We'll try and beat Miami. Maybe if we do win down there we can play each other in the Fiesta Bowl (although I am sure right now you have your sights set on the Rose). That would be awesome.

in all honesty, my sights are set on the civil war game first. thats been a heartbreaker for the last two years. once we get thru that game, i'll focus on the BCS game we wind up in. but a miami loss sure would be nice. they are not the team everyone thinks they are!

Sabena pilots went on strike some Friday last month, 10 days later the airline went bankrupt! Now, they're not working, at all.

"How stupid can one be" ???

in the case of sabena employees, thats a dangerous question. don't forget, when sabena announced that it was going to file bankruptcy, the employees staged a wildcat strike in protest!

that takes some mighty big cojones...
