what program

Hey All,

Got some questions. I am moving to Los Angeles again this may. With my key carriers fate up in the air I am comtimplating switching to another FF Program to concentrate on earning. Right now I have 4600 in UA, 11000 in delta and 5700 in AA. Now who would you reccommend I switch or stay with or start another program? I want fly more to earn status. I dont really know, what do you guys think? I want an airline with lots of flights, good deals, earning status as quick as possible and possibly upgrades for elite.

What are your flying patterns (meaning # of miles/year and destination)?

Well kinda a mixture. I am 17 FYI. Love to travel and fly. My popular routes will be LAX or SNA to TPA or MCO. Thats a top one I travel. Would like to do some asia travel. Kinda just a mixture though. This year I only flew 16000 miles but that number will increase as I will be flying cross country a lot more now.

AA probably offers the easiest immediate route to status with its Gold/Platinum challenges (see the sticky in the AA forum), but you'll have to requalify the old fashioned way, and they tend to offer the fewest bonus EQM offers. Other airlines like DL and UA tend to offer more bonuses in that direction.

I would pick the airline which you're happiest with overall (happiness in terms of service, schedule, price, etc.). I don't think any airline's elite program at the bottom tier is that much better than another's to justify paying significantly higher prices.

This may be an unpopular opinion, and it won't help with your trips to Asia, but you may also want to consider Southwest. I'm not sure how their prices compare to the other carriers, but they do fly between SNA and Florida.

I dont have a problem with Delta's service really. They always take care of me and compensate me when I have a problem. Cool thing about UA is channel 9, I know not a big reason to like them but its something.

I have nothing against SWA and do fly them. I just want to concentrate an airline in a big alliance with more partners and elite program. Also sadly SWA rapes you on flights from SNA and its same cost usually to fly other airlines.
