Buying a weapon the other side of security

I was just think to myself, I have seen
several shops at ORD that sell things now
banned from flights. Searching everyone
before they enter the gate areas seems a
little like a waste when you can go to one
of several shops by the gates and buy a
knife !!

Anyone hear anything about closing off or
limiting items the other side of security?

I think they have removed all those items from shops. My father was stuck in Iowa after the incident, and when he reboarded his flight to SFO yesterday, he told me that even the pizza restaurants there were not serving pizza, as the police came and took away their pizza cutters....

You don't even wanna think about what Jackie Chan could do with a pizza cutter!

I was wondering too - what about all those duty-free shops (at airports and even on board planes!) that sell Swiss Army knives?

I wonder if the Federal Agents have ever been to a Detroit prison. If they had they would know that you can make a deadly shiv using tightly rolled newspaper. Are they going to force the news stands closed too?

Not allowing pizza cutters is moronic. In fact nearly all the new "security" procedures are moronic. Not only have they closed the proverbial barn door after the horse is out, they've closed teh wrong door! The only changes they are discussing which have ANY merit in light of last Tuesday's vile cowardly events are armed SkyMarshals and fortified cockpits. In any case, I don't think anyone will be hijacking a planeload of Americans anytime soon.

Or without for that matter.

I guess the only food left in airports will be Japanese soup.

They're going to have to ship in precut Tofu and green onions for the Miso soup.

I can't wait until my next flight...to go to Creative Croissant in the terminal & watch them try to spread cold Cream Cheese on a bagel with a spoon. Maybe not, how can they even slice the bagels?

Haven't you ever seen those newfangled bagel cutters. They often have them in hotel Executive/Concierge/Regency and other club lounges. Alternatively, they could always be delivered "pre-sliced" from a secret offsite location!
