MIdway shuts down
Midway (JI) just announced it is ceasing operations blaming the recent terrorist attacks. Will refund tickets or reaccomadate on other carriers.

It is a bad time for airlines as well with pilot and FA negotiations, rising fuel costs, sagging economy. And don't forget that spending was also on the rise to retrofit business class seats and acquire new planes and add new routes.
All in all, we could expect to see 1 or 2 more airlines fold. Others will seek strengthening their alliances.

If this security stuff continues on the track it is on right now, more airlines will fail. Count on it.

Look what Lockerbie did to Pan Am. Guess Midway is the first of many shaky airlines to go bankrupt.
