With this, we can build an itinerary, and then choose class of service leg by leg. It provides fast fare quotes for multiple options.

I tried a simple roundtrip lookup for United flights, specifying exact dates and times (within the hour, anyway). It wouldn't show scheduled flights anywhere near the times I asked for (even using Full Flight Search). I eventually figured out I could get the flights I wanted by selecting Multiple City, adding a bogus segment to the end of the desired itinerary (making it an open-jaw), requesting "Partially Refundable" as the cancellation penalty, replacing the bogus segment with itself, this time selecting Any (Best Fare), and finally deleting the bogus segment. Only then would it fare correctly. There didn't seem to be any way to see the fare basis or rules. To its credit, the speed is impressive, and the seat mapper is pretty good.

If you're looking for a replacement for easySABRE, this ain't it. Not even close.

zrs70, you are a real mensch for digging around for a 'replacement' for UCNXN. I did regisiter with this site in the past, so I dug out my username and password, and gave it a spin with my normal ex-BKK itineraries. I remember that in the past, it was strange that had to ally myself with a travel agent to use this engine. In any event, the speed with which the flights were returned was very good. The overall display is quite clean. The only drawback was that the flights priced out anywhere from 2x (BKK-LAX) to 5x (BKK-JFK) the normal prices in economy, although the business prices were only about 20% higher (it seemed as if the prices were based on ex-USA instead of ex-BKK, and were simply being calculated in Thai Baht).

As I noted near the top of this topic, perhaps the Galileo web version is more suited for people who fly domestically in the US.

Again, thanks for the link. I was worth another look.

There is nothing wrong with the computer. It's just that when you ask a computer to price a fare originating from a foreign country to the USA, the fare calculates it as if it is originating from the USA as the higher fare applies. You have to command it to price FROM the origin country and that you have to be able to force the command in.
The only CRS that will not add the differential fare are the ones that are based in Canada! It's some strange law that forbids Canadian based computers to fare the higher fare.

This is the message I received this afternoon. I have emailed them my feelings on their actions. How do they know how I plan to use their service??? I won't be dealing with them.

In the past few days our company has processed hundreds of logons to our BTS Product. After tracing back the referring URL to this page: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/004972.html , we were able to deduce why we had received so many in such a short period of time. This product at a high cost to All-Around Travel, is mainly maintained for our corporate accounts. In the past few days we have spent an incredible amount of resources building all of these profiles so that users can access our system. We at All-Around Travel take our customer-service based business very seriously and we would love to have you actually browse BTS and then book your travel with US, but we can not justify allowing you to ONLY browse and then cancel the itinerary. This service may seem "FREE" to you, but we actually have to pay for every log on and every time you create an itinerary... If at any time in the future you would be interested in making a booking on our high quality booking system, please contact us, we would love to have your business!

Sincerely,

All-Around Travel, Inc

As stated in our last email to you...If you are serious about using our system we would LOVE to have you as a customer....As of today at 1 pm...We have processed HUNDREDS of logons, many of which have false return email addresses as well as false names and addresses. BTS could choose to disallow us to use their system at all...This is a preventative measure to protect us...Please re-read the excerpt below...Again, we would definitely value you as an All-Around Customer!

My response:

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way but I think you have taken the wrong approach. How do you know how I planned to use your site? I guess I will take my bookings elsewhere and will make sure not to recommend your business. Your heavy handed approach will lose you business but that is your problem not mine.
