I can't get mine to work. What am I doing wrong? I am only a "Blue" member with 3000 points, could it be my low balance that prevents me from getting these extra 2000 point freebies?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have 500 miles in my account. I just updated my profile and instantly got 1,000 miles.

Dabbagmm:

Don't forget to do another update for the second thousand miles.

MikeFly Jul 3, 2001 6:41 am

OK! What am I doing wrong? I got my first 1000 no problem. I try doing the second, using a different computer, different session etc., and it tells me only one update bonus to a customer.

For all of you who are currently enjoying your 2000 free miles, please note they are actually points, not miles! Still, its a nice gift nevertheless. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I made a profile update to my account but no bonus points posted. Am I doing something wrong?

bodie -- Were you using this link:

I finally got it to work. Instead of just hitting the "Update" link, you also have to hit the "Next" button.

Thanks for the tips! Hope that someone reminds me on October 1, when the new quarter starts.

What is the easiest way to disable cookies?
(other then going through MS Explorer and deleting them manualy)

Every time it click the "Profile link" it brings me to the 1,000 bonus point page but when I click next, "MY personal" account is logged in. I would log out but there is no log out button that I can find.

freakflyer Jul 3, 2001 9:26 pm

Just close the browser and open another one. Pretty easy!

tasnam Jul 3, 2001 10:18 pm

Thanks freakflyer,

No dice. (I did figure that one out about 4 years ago)

Anyone else?

tasnam Jul 3, 2001 10:29 pm

Got it.

I have to close ALL windows and re-open all of them again everytime I switch to a new family member.

LarryU Jul 3, 2001 10:36 pm

The Hilton Hhonors account information is typically not stored in cookies unless there was some type of "remember me" option on the web site that I have overlooked. However, the information is cached in memory. tasnam, if you had several instances of Explorer open, please be sure to close all instances in order to clear memory. If, for some reason, clearing memory fails to do the trick, cookies may be eliminated by deleting all *.txt files from the \windows\cookies subdirectory.

Or, if you use Netscape, you just go into its cookies.txt file and remove the particular cookies you want to. (Removing cookies that you don't want to remove is hell and the lack of any nice way to do this is one of the reasons I avoid Microsoft's badly written browser.)

got it to work, thanks!

Thanks very much! 2K HH points to the good.
