Catfight between NW and HP!
 

At least that's my theory. ANC-PHX is down to $178.80 on NW. Is NW trying to send a not so subtle message to HP by flying so cheaply into their hub?

The routing is ANC-MSP-PHX and will result in 7,560 base miles per r/t. That works out to $0.023 cents per status mile!

Does it ever get any cheaper? :-)

how lucky you guys are up North! NW never has a catfight here in HNL, at least not for as long as I can remember. That is a super deal...

AA & UA had catfight from DEN-HNL & DFW-HNL eacho selling RT for $170 in '97. I flew on AA DEN-HNL for $160 which was only Hawaii ticket I ever paid (others were award tickets) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

PHX-ANC isn't the only killer fare, how about $138 RT between PHX and BOS or NYC, or $108 to CMH, there's bound to be more out there. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif I love it!

The PHX-ANC deal was there the last time I looked, but the PHX-NYC/BOS deal evaporated, as these deals often do.

btw the permissable routing on that fare was phx-msp-sea-anc = 8246 miles rt
