FlyerTalk bag tags ?
Just an idea, but given the fact that most FT'ers are pretty frequent flyers, we must all be walking past each other in major airports around the world.
How about some entrepreneur coming up with a FlyerTalk bag tag....? |

Unlike AMEX, I never leave home without my FT bag tags!

I never leave home without my FrequentFlyer bag tags, but given how fragile they are, I don't always get home with them. I've tried taping them around the hole, punching new holes, etc. They are so thin and brittle that they break. Down to my last tag. Sigh...

They're on my bags . . . . Hope they help me meet you at the airport! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The FlyerTalk tags are a nice idea but they are awful! I was disppointed when they arrived to see how flimsy they are. Needless to say first flight out the one on my suitcase was gone by the time I reached ATL.
No way could Randy have approved these! ------------------ Mark |
They're not great for checked baggage, that's for sure. The baggage mangling machinery simply chews them up and spits them out. (As far as that goes, the baggage mangling machinery at DEN has twice broken the heavy plastic RCC tags I use on my checked luggage! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif For all I know, the baggage mangling machinery at DEN could even conquor Old Gold's "sootkase tags" but I'm too shrewd to let them get a shot at his.)
However, if they're for use in identifying each other at airline lounges, airports, and while on flights, makes better sense to put them on your carry-ons. That's where mine has been since I got it at the PiP, and it's holding up well. "Coming soon to an airport near you!" |
I don't check bags with FlyerTalk tags on them. I'm losing them on the carry-ons. And since I always have had one on my computer case, I don't think it's due to my throwing that case around. Maybe I should use duct tape around the hole where the plastic cord goes instead of the clear plastic tape. However, I think Randy got sold a bill of goods on this one and needs to find a better vendor.

All of mine are now history - split, cracked, broken - both on roll-aboard and over-the-shoulder computer case. Not a good investment!
|
amazing... mine are all still in one piece, with no cracks!

Lost another one yesterday between ALB and SEA. Darn!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I think I will stick with just the one on my computer case from now on. It has actually held up fairly well--just one broken corner so far.

Here's my advice. Keep any part of any that you may have left. Hey, we didn't manufactor them, but I've lost a few myself. Anyway, we have samples of some new ones, though we're trying to decide if flourescent pink or orange is of any of your liking. These new ones are actually pretty cool. I tested a demo set on a few trips the last few weeks and not a problem. So when we have them ready for distribution, simply send me an email (better yet, I'll post another employees email address) and we'll send replacements for those that you had problems with....at no charge. Now, I'm so convinced you'll like these new ones that I'm sure you'll buy more of them to see others on the road. Now, what color......floursecent pink or orange?

I hear Old Gold makes a mean "sootkase tag."
