FT Glossary?
You know what might be handy for newcomers? A FT glossary of all the terms peculiar to this website -- don't know what forum it would be in (maybe it's already there) -- but wouldn't it be helpful. For example:
metal: an aircraft, esp. to mean an aircraft flown & operated by a particular airline ("NW metal") mileage run: a flight or routing taken for the primary purpose of accumulating miles/points, instead of for the destination ("Can anyone suggest an AA mileage run for under $200 from MCI?") Etc. etc., you can add your own. Does anything like this exist? Where would it go? |
In the blue bar at the top towards the right is a pop-up menu named Quick Links. It is located between Search and Log Out. Click on it and at the bottom of the pop-up list that appears is Glossary. Click on that to access the glossary.
This is accessible from virtually anywhere in FlyerTalk. |

Glossary is the last option at the bottom of the Miscellaneous section, directly below the very handy Airport Code Lookup option, which I highly recommend using. You may have to scroll down your browser window and click on Quick Links again to see the entire pop-up list. By the way, clacko, there is no need to upgrade to Macintosh OS X to view this feature. Although I have Macintosh OS X as my primary operating system on another computer, I am using Macintosh System 9.2.2 on my blue-and-white G3 with Java enabled in Netscape Communicator 7.0, and I can access all of the currently available features in FlyerTalk with no problem. |
