I had a great 500k trip from April 18-May 2.

Jailer May 21, 2000 7:41 am

AustinTXHiker and I just got our final boarding pass to qualify the for the 500,000 miles. As noted in Trip Reports (LP Treasure Hunt), great trouble free run. So, add two.

MauiGirl May 21, 2000 9:49 pm

My husband and I finished the million on 5/12/00.

Tomphot May 22, 2000 6:13 am

My group of 2 finished the 500,000 mile run on April 1

vandykes4 May 25, 2000 5:05 am

tymmas May 25, 2000 6:57 pm

I did my run for the 500K on 5/13-5/15, without a hitch. Stopped by LatinPass on my return to Chicago and gave them my flight coupons, hotel bills, rental car receipts, etc. They stamped it with a Latinpass stamp and date, made me copies, and said everything should post within 4-6 weeks.
My itinerary is on the itineraries thread.

satori May 25, 2000 7:31 pm

THE NUMBERS KEEP GROWING! THEY NOW TOTAL 41 FOR 500,000 MILES AND 55 FOR 1,000,000 MILES. THE MILLION MILE NUMBER INCLUDES 2 GUYS I MET ON THE MIA TO MGA SEGMENT THAT SAID THEY READ THE BOARD, BUT NEVER POST. THEY TOLD ME I COULD INCLUDE THEM IN THE NUMBERS AS ANONYMOUS MILLION MILERS

plantlady Jun 2, 2000 11:28 am

Vandykes4:

2 people, made most of our run end of March for 1,000,000, finishing up the last details in the next couple of weeks.

Randy Petersen Jun 2, 2000 6:00 pm

OK, count me in on the numbers. I'm going for the speed record - doing the million miles in just three days - June 18-20. Going with another FT member (MilesRUs). So mark two more down for the million mile run.

Kind of reminds me of those early movies - "Cannonball Run". We've decided to name our run the "Run for the Border." If anyone is in the air those three days, hunt me down, I'll be dressed in my FT baseball cap and shirt and will be taking several extras to give away to others I meet in transit.

BosTraveler Jun 5, 2000 3:32 pm

Add one more for the full million

mileage junkie Jun 5, 2000 9:23 pm

1 person, 1 million mile run, 4 days: Miami to Central Amer. to South Amer. back to Miami; May 26-29.

FOOLISHRUNNER Jun 5, 2000 10:59 pm

Completed my Aviateca flight today for my last segment. Had to take 6 flights and 2 days to get that stupid flight I missed because of bad weather in Panama City even though I had scheduled it as my longest layover(7 hours) in an airport. Murphy has been with me a lot lately. Go figure!

Hey Natural....

I will be going for the same 4 last airlines for the 1000000 Bonus in June, when are you going? I will be in Quito 6/16, in Lima 6/17

plantlady Jun 7, 2000 10:28 am

I talked to LP yesterday. They weren't exactly complaining, but when I asked them when my documents would be processed they said kind of sadly that they have "soooo many!" I felt a little sorry for them.

milesrus Jun 9, 2000 12:10 am

I leave next Saturday wish me luck

Schutzee Jun 9, 2000 3:13 pm

1,000,000 one person just returned yesterday from LIM-CUZ-LIM-UIO-GYE to complete the full million. I did the Central American run in early May.

vandykes4 Jun 10, 2000 5:47 am

AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, 42 PEOPLE WILL COMPLETE THE 500,000 RUN AND 64 WILL EARN 1,000,000 MILES. SOME OF THE POSTS ARE BIT AMBIGUIOUS, SO THE NUMBERS MAY BE OFF A LITTLE.

ON A BIT OF A SAD NOTE, ONE OF THE WOMEN WHO WAS PLANNING A SECOND RUN WITH US NEXT WEEK WAS TOLD BY HER DOCTOR THAT SHE MAY NOT GO. SHE IS UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPY AND HER WHITE COUNT IS TOO LOW TO TRAVEL. SHE'S THANKFUL FOR THE 500,000 BONUS MILES SHE EARNED IN MAY.

Hiker Guy Jun 12, 2000 9:18 am

Flew in late last night, completing a domestic run (DFW-LAX-LAS-DFW) on National that gives me the three partner segments that I needed.

This completes all of the requirements for the million mile bonus, so chalk up another potential mile-ionaire!

Djlawman Jun 12, 2000 9:04 pm

Had posted earlier on our upcoming trip (so don't double count us), but now I can say 4 completed 500,000 mile trip tonight. The 5th (brother of my law firm partner) unfortunately lost his passport while in transit at the Guatemala airport, didn't notice it until we were in Nicaragua last night. Was held by Nicaraguan immigration until today, was taken to consulate to get replacement papers, but missed the TACA flight to MIA (for NICA). Don't know if he will get out on another flight to MIA this afternoon, or will wait until tomorrow to get the TACA flight tomorrow. Will post more later. Generally a good trip, until this unfortunate problem.

2 more for the Million, done 5/1 through 5/8.

I'm trying to see if we're the youngest ones to do it-- the other guy is 20, and I'm 24.

Tango Jun 13, 2000 10:18 am

My sister and brother-in-law just completed the 1,000,000 run yesterday.

Latin Pass told me they think 200+ have done it. My guess it will climb quickly these final 2 weeks.

cfrench Jun 16, 2000 3:49 pm

I did the 1MM run June 9-13 and met two other travelers going for the million.
It was a great trip and I look forward to visiting Latin America again soon.

FredandGinger Jun 17, 2000 10:41 am

Cutting it short, but one half of team, Fred, will be doing million mile run starting 6/25 MIA-MGA end CCS-MIA on June 28. Hope to meet some other "runners".

vandykes4 Jun 17, 2000 2:38 pm

I'M ONLY COUNTING REGULAR READERS OF FLYERTALK IN THE NUMBERS I'M RECORDING EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE WHO ARE DOING IT, IN FACT WE MET 5 PEOPLE IN THE GUATAMALA AIRPORT WHO WERE ON "THE RUN'" BUT HAD NEVER HEARD OF FLYERTALK - BOY, ARE THEY MISSING SOMETHING!

AND SO THE NUMBERS TOTAL 42 FOR 500,000 MILES AND 79 FOR 1,000,000 MILES.

Phil Jun 17, 2000 7:39 pm

Completed the 500k on June 16 with a COPA flight PTY-MIA. Good experience. No problems in Latin America ( the only delays and cnacellation were in the U.S.).

dubbdc Jun 18, 2000 1:17 am

million miles completed 4/10 - 6/10. i was in and out of the US four times. the final time back thru LAX, i was swarmed and questioned by half a dozen customs agents. didn't think they were going to let me back in the country. put on latex gloves and searched everything. especially didn't like that layover in bogota. they tried a bunch of tricks to see if i'd crack. called me a drug smugglers dream.

craz Jun 18, 2000 10:56 am

Up the 1-mil # by 1. sitting in STL waiting for the connection to MIA. Randy is on the same routing only he's 1 day ahead of me,he even was on the same flight to mia but 24 hrs ahead of me,unless he hits a snag we'll keep missing each other my loss.

mizzouflyer Jun 18, 2000 8:02 pm

Just returned back from a successful 1M run....count me and a guy from my office in for 2M!

SamuelS Jun 19, 2000 3:30 am

I completed the 500k bonus run from the 26th - 28th May (But have not had any of my miles credited as yet)

vindesante Jun 19, 2000 3:36 pm

Back today from the 500,000 mile run (1 person). I met Randy, Pegasus, milesRus, dhacker, and a friend of Randy's yesterday in CCS. I was getting off the flight from BOG on Avianca that they were all about to get on, for it's return to BOG. Thank you Randy, for all the Flyertalk goodies and even more so for this board. Had I known how flawlessly the trip would go I would have gone for the 1 million. Latin America is fascinating and Latin Pass certainly has accomplished one of it's goals in attracting new business.

milesrus Jun 21, 2000 1:35 pm

FOUR MORE PEOPLE DONE
SAW A TOTAL OF 14 DOING IT
REMEBER IF YOU DID THE 500,000 YOU STILL HAVE 9 DAYS IT'S A NO BRAINER JUST 4 MORE FLIGHTS
THIS IS THE BEST PROMOTION OF 19 YEARS I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I'VE SEEN MANY.

GOOD LUCK AND RACK EM UP YOU NEVER HAVE ENOUGH MILES
