Can't remember...

I can't seem to remember the name of the website that is owned by some of the airlines and is similar to Priceline in bidding on tickets. Anyone care to help?

You could be thinking of SkyAuction (http://www.skyauction.com) or Expedia (http://www.expedia.com). Neither of these is owned by an airline, though they both accept bids for airline tickets.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Plastickite!

I believe it may be:
ORBITZ
http://www.orbitz.com/

Its founders are United, American, Delta, Northwest and Continental. I don't think it will allow bidding so I may not have answered your question, but it does have airline affiliations.

Expedia's Flight Price Matcher, www.expedia.com allows bidding but I am not sure what type an interest, if any, the airlines have in it.

I think you are looking for Hotwire.com
Its very similar to Priceline in that you have to give up flexibility regarding departure and arrival times and they match you up with reputable airlines willing to sell you discounted tickets.

I used the service recently with great results. The great thing about Hotwire is that you don't have to enter a credit card to see fares.
