If you have any orphan miles, this is a great use. BTW, I've been able to extend my WSJ subscription until mid '08 by using the mileage promotion.

The miles were taken out of my account the next day, fyi.

Mine took about 10 or 11 weeks to get started.

I used some orphaned USAirways miles for it a few months ago and I got the first issue in about 5-7 business days.

The AA code worked like a charm. Thanks again! :)
Only took about 3 weeks to get started. ^

Bumping because at least the Delta link still works. If anyone knows of a better deal for the WSJ with points, appreciate knowing. THANKS!

Thanks a lot.

Had 10k miles on Delta because of the Dash to the Gate promotion. Was feeling pretty stupid after finding out that Delta has a terrible redemption program.

Glad to find out that I could save some $$$ using those miles :)

Now I only hope the newspapers start arriving before I change address in 2 months

I signed up for 12 weeks last August using UA miles. My subscription was due to expire in November, but they keep sending it! It's now been well over 12 additional weeks. My expiration date online still says November but the paper comes like clockwork every morning. I guess they need the subscribers to pump up their circulation... :)

It'll end shortly. They keep sending it hoping you'll sign up for the subscription through all the letters advising you that your subscription is ending soon.

I've had subscriptions on other magazines extended by a few issues after they ran out, but I've never had a subscription extended by almost triple the original term like this one has. And I haven't received a renewal notice in months. I'm not complaining though! ^

Amex MR also offers 3 months of the WSJ for 1200 points.

My subscription was supposed to have ended in January but I'm still receiving it.

These sound like great deals. I have a sub. to the WSJ in the states on hold while I am in Korea for 2 months. anyone know any deals for the AWSJ? I don't want to wait a long time for it to start though.

Rather than letting your expiration date pass and continue to receive the paper for several months, you have another interesting option: put delivery on hold until the end of next year. Why do this? It keeps your account active, so that you have access to the 7-day search function at services.wsj.com, which allows you to retrieve all articles (typically up to 6 weeks old) by key word.

I save a LOT of time by doing a few keyword searches and picking up articles of interest rather than wading through the entire paper. Naturally, you miss fun items that you didn't search for. For that, you can use the default search, which pulls up the most recent articles, a list which changes several times per day. If you manually change the URL for the default search (the one that ends with &maxitems=30&bool_query=*) to end with &maxitems=999&bool_query=* , you will get several days' worth of article headlines to browse.

How did you sign up with UA miles? I don't see UA on milepoint.com :(
