The Las Vegas Hilton usually has lower rates on weekends since they don't have as many business travelers in town except when there is a big weekend convention. The large strip hotels are usually higher on weekends. It may pay to relocate for the weekend to save $$$$$s.

I would check www.travelscape.com - I have consistently found great hotel rates there and you can book the hotel with or without the air portion.

Actually Nov 13-17 - I think it always follows a Mon-Fri schedule. I would guess that the check-ins (and the sky-high rates) probably begin a few days before the 13th itself.

for some reason, travelocity does not allow saturday night reservation.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Attending Comdex every year for a couple of days I usually choose the later days of the show: WE - FR. By avoiding the heavy initial days (SA - TUE) you should be able to land rates below $100. Two years ago I was at the Flamingo Hilton for $ 89. Often the hotels start discounting unsold inventory about 2 weeks before the show.

Usually, the best hotel rates are away from the strip. The LV Hilton is one possibility, and I've landed the Golden Nugget (the best hotel downtown) for $60 from www.180096hotel.com . You can probably get even cheaper at the lesser downtown hotels.

LV Hilton is running a $35./ngt promo this summer based on availibility.

which is a better hotel? Ballys, LV Hilton or Flamingo Hilton? thanks!

cesco.g Jul 6, 2000 8:38 pm

Last year the Flamingo Hilton sent me a promotion for $15/night/room good on the slow days preceeding Thanksgiving and X-mas.
Was not able to use it by myself but booked it for a friend who was very pleased. If it comes up again this year I'll be glad to post it here.

Is there anyway to get Starwood back in the game in Vegas?? I recently switched to their program and am almost a Platinum.....heard they used to have Ceasers?? And now nothing?? That doesnt seem smart, were talking about Vegas here. Anyone know why?

Belle-
I prefer the LV Hilton, mostly because of its location. Close to everything, yet it has easy access compared to the big hotels on the strip. Much less of a headache if you are driving. The Flamingo is a nightmare to get in and out of. It also has a lot of specials.
Bally's is probably another good choice. Don't know if you are aware, but it is connected to the new Paris hotel (another hilton). Be sure to check out Tres Jazz, a great resturant that is inside, right between the two hotels.
I LOVE LAS VEGAS!!!

thanks pointman, i think i will try Ballys this time... although Bellagio has always been my first choice.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif their rate is way up high, especially for saturday nights...

ROADRUNNER Jul 7, 2000 1:36 am

If you never stayed at Bally's, it does not compare to Bellagio. I refuse to stay at Bally's. Even the Paris might be better.

I would suggest bally's or paris if you are interested in hhonors points, the Venetian if you are not. Paris/bally's is right accross the street from bellagio (what a view for the water fountain shows!) Save your money and stay somewhere else, and use the extra money to see the "O" show at bellagio. INCREDIBLE
